Too late now - he's saddled with journeymen plodders.
There'd be a lot more empathy if he had a group of hungry but raw U23's as we were led to believe...

I cant help but feel that there is potential for him to do so. Whether it's because I like the guy and really want him to succeed, I don't know.

A good start for me would be to play Davies (our new keeper - remember him), 4 at the back without McClean, 4 in midfield a number 10 and a striker, fuck the diamond off as it just isn't going to work at this club, stop ostracising players and keep a settled side. Gouranga.

Maybe he has to because no one else wants the job, so we are stuck with him till he does.

There's nothing more I would like.. For Jones to turn it around... I honestly think all the shit what's going on down stoke is nothing to do with him.. Even stevie wonder could see what was happening three years ago... But our hierarchy have just let it get beyond repair... Anyone to blame is them

Gouranga. Agree. McLean gives 100% but doesn't create much at all. GEt rid of ince as well. That means we need a right mid. I'd bring in diouf on right, I believe he is still at the club. We then need to find a left back..probably clucas. Then need left mid. verlinden is out so need another. Powell comes in behind hogan or Campbell to start.

I honestly think he has confused the team, the formation, the management and himself. He is in panic mode and that is what unsettles the players when we concede. Looking at him on the sideline he is labelled as passionate but for me his is fidgeting round, the best thing i saw on tuesday was he was stretching his hamstrings like he was going to take to the field. On the sideline his arms are flying round like hes on the 1s and 2s spinning a disk or two. How the hell any player can follow his instructions is beyond me. Again looking at the players I dont think they have the brains to understand too many different instructions from him, the body language was dreadful. I noted that when one of their players had a head injury ccv and ince stood with their hands on their hips and did not move for 2-3 minutes, thisnis the time when a captain and leader gets in a huddle and motivated the players, baath was trying but it was futile to say the least.
He has lost the players, just because I dont think they can be arsed to listen anymore.
Always remember Roy keane saying that footballers need very short simplistic structured directions, if you over complicate it you may as well not bother.

If he hasn't turned it around by now, the chances that he'll suddenly turn it around are close to nil.
I think he's still there because the board can't get anyone willing to take the job. And there lies a major problem. The shittier we become, the harder it will be to attract any decent manager or player.
I honestly wouldn't be surprised to see Pulis return because he's the only one who would be interested.

And what do you think he needs to do (apart from leave) to achieve it? Gouranga. Obviously, it's gone way too far. 1. Get a better #2 - someone who offers something rather than just a comfort blanket. 2. Get a mentor. 3. Probably 442, getting some width 4. .... Ward at LB, the same 2 CBs each game (Colllins and BMI) and CCV at RB 5. Play Campbell and Vokes/Gregory up top. (Getting Vokes to some sort of form is probably key) 6. Drop Allen. N'Diaye and Etebo in the middle. Clucas left, Ince or Edwards (or Diouf??) right (that's the tough one) 7. Early crosses to Vokes/Gregory from both flanks - and/or use pace of Campbell. 2 of the back 4 forward from corners and set piecse. Otherwise sit in and play on counter attack. 8. Practice practice practice corners and set pieces. 9. Stick to a core 15 players as much as possible. Setted back 4. 10. Sorry to Davies, Smith, Cousins, Hogan, Powell, Lindsay - but we'll probably never use you - so train elsewhere.

I still thought he could do it before Saturday. There's no denying we have had some bad luck and we looked decent at times, if we'd just scored a couple at important times we might have been in a much better position now.
Saturday was worse than any performance Gary Rowett ever produced, and even worse, it looks like he has lost the dressing room which can only end one way.
What frustrates me is that this squad has been exceptionally poor but will keep their nice salaries under a new gaffer and get even more chances.
