...much better. Unfortunately we have a clueless manager who doesn't know how to make this team gel and to get the best out of every individual. His chopping and changing of personell and systems all the time doesn't make it any better either. Why he decided to get rid of our only left back without replacing him is also someting that is hard to understand. Instead he brought in another right back, and after yesterday's performance by Edwards it's easy to see why, but Edwards was coming good at the end of last season so why not prioritise a left back instead? The purchase of Hogan was also a strange one as it meant our young and upcoming striker hardly would get chances to play. This after a very good preseason by Campbell as well. I also think we brought in one central defender too many which means our own talented young central defender are put further down in the pecking order. I really can't understand why the owners take the risk to stand by this man any longer as it's glaring obvious he will take us down. We need the change now so the new manager can have enough time on his hand to turn these bad times around.

We have decent players that are very low in confidence...especially at the back.
We have a good manager that Likes to play confident attacking football
That’s the problem in my opinion
I hate to say this but, a season or two of Tony Pullis will bring confidence and structure back to the whole team
But........I’m fucked if I want to watch it.

This we have good players mantra is fast becoming a big fat myth I’m not buying it mate. Yes, some are undoubtedly wank, but nobody will ever convince me these players as a group, whilst clearly not world beaters are not good enough to compete in this league with a bit of organisation and discipline.

Not a big fan of BMI but he is quite possibly the only defender we have good enough for this level. Yes, our defensive players are low on confidence, but when you combine that with their low quality you get the omnishambles we watched yesterday. Do we have a good manager that likes to play confident attacking football? I am lost with that one. Download praise and grumble and listen to Lawrence. Yesterday was a decent watch and we created chances, but that has not been the norm - under NJ we have been one of the lowest-scoring teams in all 4 divisions. All the good things yesterday were driven by 1 player who tried to take Forest on - on his own. A season or two of Pulis will bring confidence and structure back to the whole team? You don't want to watch players with confidence and a team that can defend and have structure are you saying we would be better to stick with NJ and lose every game because the football would be better. The only decent atmospheres we have had at the Brit were under Pulis. Atmospheres are generated by what the team are doing on the pitch

We had a guy called Eric Pieters who, though often slagged off on here, was a decent wholehearted left fullback. It seems that he wasn't good enough for a "Nathan Jones" Stoke City squad. Strange then that he still starts regularly for a Premiership team.

We have a handful of good players. The rest range from mediocre to poor. We had good players. Then we bought a huge stack of players that weren't good enough, some for money, some for free, some by Hughes, some Rowett, most Jones. They weren't very good, but Jones has proceeded to make them worse over a relatively short period of time. Yesterday we had 2, actually three, very good players and it showed. We had Badou playing at the base, not his best position but he gave everything for the cause, and was everywhere, and we had Powell, not really as a 10, but in a free role of sorts. He's not sharp but he kept Forest worried for the time he was on. The third Etebo, who's maybe lacking a little something in his game, but he fights and plays very well most of the time. I can't help but feel if we had had those players available to us from day 1 and every game onwards, we would have been in a much better position than we are. Not at the top, but we might have been lower mid table. Their presence would have inspired other players.

We do have some good players: Etebo, Badou, Ince for examples, but they are not very good team players and are playing for themselves and not actually producing any end product in terms of creating goal scoring chances.
We have quality players who are flawed: Butland plays well instinctively, but when he has to make decisions, he is makes the wrong one or fails to execute what he is trying to do; Edwards is good going forward, but is flawed defensively, often trying to be clever playing football instead of putting the ball in the back row of the stand.
We have players who give 110% effort, but are just not good enough: McClean and Allen.
We have far too many players who were good but are now enjoying their last big pay day before they retire, so they are just going through the motions.

We need someone to make us solid and survive this season with the players we have, then get an identity back next season

We have a couple of players who are good.
We have a lot of players who at some point in their career have done something good but are now just a shadow of them former selves.
We have some players who have never been good, merely average & now even they can't reach those levels of performance.

They should be good enough to keep us in this division but putting aside N’Daiye, Etebo and Indi they’re distinctly average, there’s no pace and no creativity.

Not saying I want Pulis That said I am beginning to think that a miracle is needed for us to get out of this and there quite possibly is only one man capable of turning it around - would not be against him coming back, but think I might have a dig at Hughton first(if he will come) - I don't think I could take the divide if Pulis comes back We definitely need a manager who can sort defence out, it has quite simply been neglected for the last 4 years and we have had seasons where we have started with a centre-forward as our only viable right-back and square pegs this season at left-back and arguably, at the moment, we have only 1 viable defender(including goalkeepers) for this level - totally bizarre situation which has been going on too long

Obviously I want to watch our players with confidence.....as for structure probably yes but, not shacked to a Pulis structure which stops a player from showing the odd glimpse of flair or creativity i seriously think TP is the safest bet right now i know for sure I’ll not be spending another penny travelling and paying to watch 8 defenders spending 90 mins helping out the keeper yes we had one or two good wins.....although a fair few I felt strangely embarrassed about us winning as....shall we say...they weren’t exactly by playing football as you say....each to their own

We have arguably the best squad in the league but without question the most expensively assembled
The problem is Rowett and Jonah Jones couldn't actually get them playing
A decent manager could get us into the playoffs (or close) even at this stage especially with a window to bring in a LB and some pacey width

A good manager will come into this, put the likes of lindsay, cousins, edwards, ince, carter vickers, into a little separate training group of players that will get any manager sacked, and play a simple 4-2-3-1, relying on batth and Bruno at the back with smith and ward, badou and etebo in midfield. That is a solid base and we shouldn't be in this position.
The resources are there to win games, we are just shockingly disorganised.
The change should have come before yesterday. We've delayed this too long again. Hughton would fancy this as a project, he could have this turned around fairly quickly and be a hero here
