Butland has fucked up so much of the good we have done this season, and it impacts the defence too as they seem to have lost trust in him. If Butland had been solid this season as he has previous seasons we would be half way up the league or higher. It's difficult to blame Jones for our keeper because i think most of us would play him. Butland is costing Jones is time as much of what we do is really good. If federici was anywhere near as good as Butland he would be playing 1st team football elsewhere. I don't get the Davies situation, he seems like a panic buy, but still we would all play Butland ahead of him. I for one wouldn’t play Butland for a long time, so I’m not in your ‘most of us’ camp. He’s not reliable at the moment and doesn’t command his area. As for Federici or Davis, can they really be any worse?

His attitude seems to be the polar opposite of Badou who also didn't get his move. At the moment Jack seems to carry the world on his shoulders and feels that everything is against him. After every mistake he flaps his arms like a child as if it was bad luck. Badou on the other hand seems determined to carry the fight and prove to watching teams that he has ability, effort and the right mental attitude. Perhaps a tete a tete with Badou would help Jack.

We’d probably be in league one now if it wasn’t for Butlands performances last season Agree take him out of the firing line for a few games A major problem is the full backs imo, he has no confidence in them and this is contributing to his lack of belief Undoubtedly players you play with can affect your confidence, but equally if the team don't know what Jack is going to do, he will affect them as well. As I approached the end of my playing days I was really struggling to pick the straight high ball. That hesitation was costing us goals for a few weeks running. I was fortunate enough to play with 2 excellent centre halves and between us we decided that if I made a big positive call, they would get out of the way or clear the path for me to come and get it. If I didn't shout or if my shout was late or tentative, they'd head it clear. Those 2 lads enabled me to play longer than I should have done as my ability had almost totally gone. It's called being a team and teammates help each other out. Ultimately, that is where we fail and why we always concede goals in bunches over 10-15 minute spells. Are you available for tomorrow night Dave?

I'm speculating but I'm assuming Butland's poor form is due to the realisation nobody wanted him in the summer and his career is dying - hence low confidence- add to that his persistent errors and you've got a viscous circle

Given we all expect Jones to be gone soon irrelevant of a stay of execution if we win tonight. How does the keeper situation pan out ? Do we think Butland has to be out for a proper period of say 6,7,8 games ? Can't see what we got out of dropping him for 2 games and then bringing him back .

Maybe best to give him 3 weeks off. Let him spend it somewhere in the sun and on a psychiatrists bed and in a barangay in Manila.
Manila will open his eyes
