It’s proves nothing.
We’re pretty much playing game to game with him now. So we win he stays, we win another he stays. He loses tomorrow maybe he goes. He loses against Huddersfield he’s gone. End of.
This is why we should just get behind him and the team. He’s got a point to prove, let’s let him and the boys try and prove it. If we lose tomorrow it’s not the end of the world (yet), and he might go. If he wins great, things look a lot better.
We’ve got nothing to lose whether Jones is in the dug out or not so let’s just fucking go for it!!

If he gets lucky it proves nothing.
If he picks, motivates and tactically manages a competent and cohesive team performance, it proves we put meths in the Forest players' water bottles.

Why would you sack a manager on the back of a win? I think he needs 4 pts from 2 games to survive but i'm not convinced a draw with Forest will save him. It's NJ's Cup Final!

A singular win would relieve the pressure on him internally I reckon so for him it would be massive.
For the general fanbase I suspect he would need back to back wins and as importantly back to back performances to restore some of the faith. Even that won't be enough for many as he's probably already lost a good portion of them (semi) permanently.
The ideal scenario is that he plays his diamond and we piss all over them to win comfortably. Pull that off and you would expect a much needed shot of confidence all around the club however unlikely that is.

I’ve been saying Jones needs to go all week; however, for some reason, I’m feeling overwhelmingly positive now that tomorrow could be a turning point. He can’t afford another poor performance and defeat. He has to come out absolutely swinging and we have a fly at them. I’m fed up, and I hope he is, of teams rolling up at the Brit and taking the absolute piss out of us.
If we beat Forest with a good, strong performance then we can take that into Huddersfield and give them a hiding too. I feel like if he’s going to stumble on something that works, it’s going to be tomorrow. It has to be, there’s no more chances after that.
Maybe it’s because we are on the brink that I’m feeling positive. Just imagine how good a big win would feel tomorrow.
Save yourself Nathan. It’s up to you.

Nothing, but if he beats Forest he gets another game and so on, I feel this is where we are with him now, win the next two and he has a tiny bit of breathing room.

It's a nailed on certainty that this club would not sack the manager after a win on Friday, so what's the point in debating it? I'm happy to bet you any amount of money. The other fact is, that if we do win tomorrow the mood on here will be totally changed. I've been going to football games long enough to see how quick football fans can change their tune. Nothing to do with what I might think. The win is a very big ask though imho

Not a chance in hell are we going to win . . . the man himself says he doesn't know if the players are playing for him. Unless he's totally lost his marbles - which seems increasingly possible - that means that they are most certainly not playing for him - and all the objective evidence has pointed that way for some time. Who would want to play for him? He's a walking disaster of a manager. They must want him gone as much as the most rabid anti-Jones Oakcake poster. He's toast, burnt toast at that. And the only reason he's still here is Coates can't persuade anyone decent to come and take over. We really are close to, if not at, the point of no return.

A win will make the atmosphere around the club improve slightly and we have some renewed hope that we might avoid relegation. It also should buy more time for the board to find the right manager to get us looking like a promotion team which is really with our resources where we should be. A few wins and safety under Jones doesn't change the fact that he is a poor option in just about every aspect of football management...tactics, team selection, man management and game management are all woeful. He is out of his depth at this level but maybe he has a career in the SCFC PR department.
