I have always backed the Coates family but they seem to have a death wish regarding the direction the club is going. Maybe its time to go & get somebody in who knows what they are doing as we have had over 3 years of bad decisions right through the club. Whats happening now is sheer lunacy & making us a laughing stock & no manager is going to want to come here because of this.

The latest indefensible, unjustified, act of absolute fucking lunacy in sending Verlinden to Bolton, fucking Bolton of all places, will no doubt have tipped a lot of people over the edge. I’ve only just seen that. The atmosphere is going to be horrific at the next game, because let’s face it this dopey dick will still be in charge. It’s like we’re deliberately trying to completely disintegrate from within. I want them all gone, the manager, the players, the higher-ups, the owners, fuck the lot of them off and start again, it’s clear as day they’ve completely lost the plot. There were people at Brum saying they'd supported the club home and away for 40/50/60 years (so not the prem league snowflake generation before anyone says that) and they never thought they'd turn their back on the club but just were struggling to take it anymore - this was even before the game. It's really hard when its just terrible decision making and they fail to learn. How do you continue to support it? I have no idea. They are pushing everyone to the absolute limit. Our fans love this club but that just makes it too hard to take watching it be eaten alive from the inside.

IF true - superb, We dont want to be known as a sacking club but are ok with a League one club? What is going on? That was going to be my point. I'd sooner be a sacking club than a League One club. Fucking hell. Damned if they do, damned if they don’t because we’ll be unlikely to get anyone better than Jones. So we have to stay the course. Unfortunately.

This is the perfect opportunity to sack him. If we don't then we're just going to pay for it in early October when we have to sack him anyway and our position will be even worse and it'll be harder to attract a decent replacement.

I mean, if we're going down to League one, we may as well keep the best manager League 1 has ever seen.

Of course they're going to stick with him. Sacking another manager would make them look incompetent with their decision making and would only shine a light on them further when another manager comes in and fails miserably.
The club is in a fucking dire situation, but we need a deep cleansing of the internal structure. Unfortunately the only way I think that will happen at this point is relegation. That said my disappointment in how hard Jones has failed can't be understated.

I mean, if we're going down to League one, we may as well keep the best manager League 1 has ever seen. If you read the Luton supporters post on here he wasn’t primarily the reason for lutons success, it was people like mick Harford et al finding the right players for him. Maybe he was just a lucky manager at Luton ?

What’s truly amazing is the chief executive survived that meeting , sustained failure on a continued basis over 4 years and desertion of post in time of crisis , ( happy to retract if it’s health related ) it’s incredible he will be sitting in the stand in a fortnights time having overseen one of the most spectacular collapses in premier league history with total immunity while one after another team manager have paid with their jobs

An excellent, brave decision. How nice to see the owners have courage in their convictions, instead of taking the cowardly way out. Do you see things getting better, MD? I don't think that we'll be relegated. I didn't really have any other aims for this season. We backed the wrong horse last year with the get promotion quick scheme and this season was about laying the solid foundations for a subsequent promotion campaign. An excellent, brave decision. How nice to see the owners have courage in their convictions, instead of taking the cowardly way out. Alternatively, having the balls to admit you've made a mistake and taking a financial hit to rectify it could be the way to go? I loved his talk and the idea of a "project" with a young manager who'd done it with Luton (who wouldn't want that?).....but (and it pains me to say it), I aren't sure he's got the faintest clue what on earth he's doing. And his results would have seen him sacked at 91 other clubs. If he hasn't any longer got the balls to play his diamond and can't eke out results playing the Rowetty stuff we did on Saturday (now minus Verlinden as any competiton to McClean if we do shake the formation up), what exactly is he doing here? That last paragraph is why the Birmingham game through up my first major concern. He needs to stop panicking and stick to his guns.

I think he's panicking because he didn't think the players would be as shit as they are, his signings or otherwise, they've all been pretty shocking, I get why he did what he did against Brum but it was far from the right thing to do.
