A touch disappointing, in light of WBA and Hull's sales of 20,000.
But not bad at all.
I can't see the point of stopping selling them now with this cooling-off period - we should leave the prices as they are and sell as many as we possibly can.

Bearing in mind that going from high flyers in the 70's to a 3rd tier team for much of the late 90's, will have drastically affected our fan base, and the fact that Stoke-on-Trent is the smallest City in England to host 2 football league teams, I think 17,000 is a pretty good figure.
Goooooaaaaarrrrn Stoke!!!

Don't forget that this isn't the final figure either. Although the next batch of season tickets will be more expensive, if we have signed a couple of big name players, it might encourage more to join the SCFC Revolution

I had hoped we would top 20k to be honest so I would have to say I am disappointed. I think we will average around 23k and will sell out for around 10 home games.

West Brazil have been there before and have kept their "glory hunting fans" and Dull are the biggest city in Europe to have never played in their countrys top flight so hardly surpirising they've sold a few more! still a great achievement, conna wait till August, come on you POTTERS

True on the Baggies point.
I don't know how big the Greater Hull conurbation is, but I'd imagine that S-O-T/Newcastle and the Moorlands etc is as big/bigger?
And Hull also have 2 rugby league teams who get 20,000 watching them between the 2 of em.
I still think it's ever so slightly disappointing

A few high profile signings will definitely reel in the few fans who are undecided about buying one or didnt have money til the new prices are announced. Definitely worth getting one, mine works out to 10.50 a game (£199) and my brothers 6.80 a game (129). Got to be cheapest prem football available with those prices. Well Done Stoke

Knowlsey, you heard owt about Austria yet? No Bunny. All I can assume is it will be the same kind of thing as recent years. Local team on the Tuesday (e.g.Bad Aussee again) and then a more high profile fixture on the Friday. As for actual team names, your guess is as good as mine....Barcelona (cough)

Slightly disapointed with that too. The figure at the last announcement was 15500, so wev'e only sold another 1500 tickets since then. I honestly thought we would be much closer to 20k.

WBA have sold 20,000 ST's
Hull sold 16,000 before they were promoted and sold their last 4,000 today = 20,000
Both WBA and Hull also have "waiting lists" too
Compared to WBA and Hull , our ST sales are dissapointing
BUT over the last 25 years we have only averaged above 15,000 per-season five times
We have only averaged above 20,000 once in THIRTY years
In terms of support, we are a smaller club than either WBA or Hull, although we have far greater pedigree.
So now it's down to us the fans, Coates and Pulis have delivered...
Can we?

I think the 17,000 ST holaders are regular fans e.g fans that go to most home games but not all due to other priotories. I thought we might get a few thousand new supporters but I guess we might have to wait another season for those. I just want the Brit full and rocking every game. Still we have broken the record and have to see that as a positive start

Cannock chase 94000, east staffordshire 108000, Lichfield 96000, Newcastle under Lyme 123000, south staffordshire 106000, stafford 123000, stafffs moorlands 93000, stoke on trent 234000, Tamworth 75000, makes 1,050,000, over a million, fair enough Tamworth, cannock chase, stafford to an extent, south staffs could be decreed as lost causes thats 400000 to right off, but they can be reached, clever marketing and fair pricing can make us a well supported club.
Personallly I do not look forward to the glory hunter aspect of non commital fans turning up just because we play in the best league in the world, but that is what success brings, then unfortunately for the good of the club so be it, we know who we are....... My final point is that with even 400000 potential fans taken out of the equation we still have a massive opportunity to make us capable of achieving 30000 to 35000 on a regular basis IF we stay in the premier league, on from then on who knows, with the right knowledge and leadership we are more than capable of achieving this.

Considering that 10,500 Stoke fans bought/renewed their ST's BEFORE we were promoted then 17,000, given our fantastic achievment on being promoted and catchment area, then you have to feel a little dissapointed, especially when, like me, you are making a round trip of 200 miles for some home games
It does make you question whether some people in The Potteries actually deserve success.
Nevermind, it is a positive step and lets hope we can generate an atmosphere inside the ground like we did against Bristol and Leicester, whether we are winning, drawing or losing.
We are as TP says, the twelth man..

17,000+ season tickets is really good imo. Don't forget our attendances have declined over the years and we have reached 17k from a lower starting point (8000??) than both Hull & WBA. 3,000 away fans at each game, 17,000+ season ticket holders, 2,000+ pay on the day and even the low profile prem games will be 22k+ I'm going to have to be at the ground 3 hours before kick off to get a parking space

wizzard we could certainly do with a few more commited fans up here, a 200 mile journey evry other week is a great service to our club, we really should do better, money is tight but it is the same everywhere at the moment and we have a massive opportunity which isn't being pushed enough imo
