Unbelievable that we were asking £15m for Allen - and 20-odd for Butland. The mind boggles. Pre-season both seemed fairly reasonable to be fair. Most people were complaining we weren't asking for more. Especially for Butland.

But I was always someone who would have taken lower than that to make sure we banked something reasonable for them this summer so we could re-invest with a new broom. I respect the opinion of those who felt we needed to be firm and not be pushed around, but Butland will be entering his final year next summer, and I would have taken £15m in a heartbeat - and would certainly have taken £10-12m for Allen (and his 50-60k-a-week)

Should drop them both. Both were hoping their careers were heading away from scfc this summer, they dont want to be here.

One thing is for certain, whoever has leaked this to Percy has an agenda and you can bet your last penny that the entire team sheet has found it's way onto Bielsa's lap.
Tosser.

Hindsight is a wonderful thing - but I do think there were lots who would have taken a combined £25m for them and looked to re-invest, certainly given Allen's £3m-a-year wages.

If you keep employing Welshmen as managers, you are going to get a few leeks. A rarebit of humour

Jack's had a bad start to the season but is still the best keeper we have by a country mile and much like Man Utd did with De Gea last year, why bring an inferior player in just let your best player get through it "form is temporary class is permanent" Joe has been culpable in a number of the goals we have gifted to the opposition including Derby's first and Preston's first and if he had done his job then Jack would not have been able to make his fuck ups.

I like your theory on it being cartwright he's on the way out with nothing to lose but what's he trying to achieve if it was him that has leaked the information?? To throw NJ under the bus??

That’s just it though. Sometimes you give your better players the best chance of regaining their form by taking them out of the firing line, and sometimes a less talented player in form is a better option than a talented one bang out of form.

I don't know who it is. 2 + 2. It would make more sense than Joe's Agent as Percy has had good info from Stoke going way back before Joe joined, and the transfer info would be a bit of a giveaway.

It is hard to go back in time to July when we were all feeling sunny and relatively optimistic. Maybe I'm being swayed too much by the current shenanigans.

I would have taken it but I got the feeling we wanted 20m for jack ( england keeper etc) and 12 to 15 for joe ( Wales international, prem experienced etc). That was just the gist I got from this board as the eyes were on scholes. People kept saying how much bang average players were selling for in todays market. Funny thing is 25m sounds a lot for the pair tonight

You’re all quite happy to give a manager whose been awful for 8 fucking months a chance so if Butland is picked tomorrow let’s just get behind him eh? We know he’s not this shit and he’s been a fantastic servant to this club. If we need to stick with him through this bad time, and everyone has decided that it’s better for him to play through it rather than take a break, so fucking be it.

Yes because he’s not correctly assessed the situation but I am assuming (I don’t know why as there’s not evidence to suggest he has done or knows anything about what’s he’s doing) he has. And I just feel you (not you specifically) can’t give the manager chance after chance then not support our players through the rough time. Would I make the same decision...I don’t know. But if he’s being made - Jack needs our full support.

If Allen is dropped but Jack plays he's a fucking lunatic and a coward. Totally agree with this,i have no confidence in Jones but surely Butland get's dropped.Strong management needed,is Jones upto it?

All eyes will be on Butland if he plays,he will be under immense pressure not to make a mistake and Leeds will look to take advantage of that. In my opinion it's a terrible decision

I know nothing but I always assumed Percy only wrote articles when he was fed something from the club, the timing for this info is really odd.

Jones may stick with Jack Butland who was at fault in the 3-1 defeat at Preston on Wednesday, though there are some fitness doubts hanging over the goalkeeper.
The text seems to have changed since the story went up. He was firmer on Butland starting initially, now he's introduced a bit more doubt

Allen and Butland have to be dropped, anyone who disagrees needs sectioning and fast.
Baath needs to go as well, system needs to change to the strength of our personnel which would probably be a 433 or 442. This room and no matter what jones says leaves us far too exposed in wide areas.
I don’t want him to get the chop but I’d say he has three games to turn it around IMO.

Joe Allen has been absolutely garbage this season.
He should be embarrassed and ashamed to pick up his ludicrous wage packet every week.
He hasn't even been doing the basics right.
Butland should be pulled too. I don't even care if the only other option is Haugard. You can't keep performing your job so appallingly bad, and expect no consequences.
Nath needs to grow a set. Forget the talk. Start walking the walk.

It’s not sufficient punishment for crimes...the only punishment fitting is for a naked Tony Pulis to be sitting in his chair when he get back of his holiday then head butting him after handing him his P45 😉
