It wasn’t working fine. We had conceded and it was creating nothing in the first half. Ince’s goal came from a long ball from Butland. It looks pretty but achieved the square root of naff all. If you were there you would have seen 2-3 chances quite frankly should have broke the net! Poor finishing from average strikers is the reason, not for the lack of chances! In the first half?

The problem is it's not the first time he's made weird substitutions in games and lost us points. He gives me the impression sometimes that he isn't really sure what to do with this squad and sometimes makes changes for change's sake and doesn't really have a clear idea why he's doing it. Or he does have an idea, but those ideas are simply not very good. I hope I'm wrong and we're now on the tipping point of an upturn in fortunes. There were certainly good signs on Saturday. I just have a sneaking suspicion that he's a naive, reactionary manager who panics in games and almost tries too hard to get it right and ends up messing up in the process. I don't doubt his passion and enthusiasm. I just wonder if he's actually good enough? I hope he proves me wrong. I like the guy and if he does well he has the personality to become a bit of a legend. A genuinely likeable guy. I don't think there's an inbetween with Jones. He will either do it so right that it's amazing or it will all fall flat on its face being wrong. I think he's on to something here though.

Sounded much more positive and upbeat in that press conference than after QPR. I believe him. We are turning the corner. His positivity is infectious.
At this level, the quality in the squad is so deep, the tricky thing is finding the balance on the pitch.
The fact that Ryan Woods, Tom Ince, Lee Gregory and Scott Hogan have come in and done well will have surprised a few of our experts.
I think we're going to be in for a really exciting season. There will be some frustration as he gets it right, but once that confidence really clicks, he's really going to go for it in every game.
I hope there will be one or two eating a bit of humble pie, only because that will mean Stoke City are progressing under Nathan Jones.

He and we will come good, and like he said, those who have been with the project from the start can enjoy it more when it flourishes. In NJ we trust!

I think it will come good, it’s frustrating at the moment but I can see good positive things happening and I’m happy to NJ time. If, and it’s a big if at the moment, we can string 3 or 4 wins together confidence will rocket and I’m confident we will see some exciting things take place.
