Felt we missed a major opportunity in summer 2018 when we went for Rowett and not Potter. He built a brilliant team abroad who even won at the Emirates in the Europa League and last season did a superb job at Swansea on a shoestring. In the meantime we’ve spent a fortune and made our squad weaker and currently sit bottom of the Championship after 2 games, I’d love Jones to come good but if we are not performing well in the top half by Xmas I think we might have to start again. Due diligence.......

I was laughed at on here for suggesting him even earlier than that, when we went for Lambert. A belting manager.
I've said it before and i'll say it again, we've potentially got an even better manager in Jones.

Plenty of us on here were calling for him. It's a massive shame the club didn't agree.

I was doubtful his techniques and philosophies would transfer to the English leagues but was completely wrong. The guy clearly has got something.

He was average at Swansea last season and he’s won one game 3-0. Only on the Oatcake do we base the performance of managers after one game.

Where did Swansea finish last season? 6 places above us. Having lost nearly all their best players. Had quite a big injury crisis and not spent £50m

Had quite a big injury crisis and not spent £50m We had an abortion of a season so I wouldn’t compare them to us. I wouldn’t say Swansea were relegation favourites. They were predicted to finish in mediocrity and that’s what they did. What’s all the fuss about? They finished mid-table as expected.

Potter did something with nothing at Swansea and it earns him a premier league move.

He had his team sold from under him and made do with youth team players and still finished 6 places and 10 points above us. A fantastic coach and one of the biggest dropped bollox our club has made is not appointing him when Hughes was sacked. He was available and wanted the Stoke job.

They're everyone's favourite to go down pre season. Personally I think Potter is that good that Brighton will be comfortably safer. I genuinely believe he will manage a big club in the not too distant future. Like I said it was shameful by the Stoke board not to even consider him and appoint Paul fucking Lambert instead!!!

Perfect name for a stoke manager as well. Yes, that was the accusation that was flung around at the time. 'You only want him for the name'. That was made by a prominent poster on here. I wonder if he'll be man enough to own up, and apologise?

Howe will make a serious player of him i'm convinced.

Rated man of the match by the BBC. Man alive. www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/49215986"Apart from one wayward shot which went well over, it was a very impressive competitive Cherries debut for Philip Billing in the heart of the Bournemouth midfield. He played his part in his side's goal, had a pass accuracy of 83%, created two chances with key passes, had one powerful shot on target, had 79 touches, made six tackles and four interceptions."
