would have been a really good appointment
'Sweden is a mickey mouse league' makes no sense. He took ostersunds from the fourth division to the top, won the Swedish up and overcome some big teams in Europe (and won at Arsenal). No major resources in doing so, imagine somebody taking Plymouth to the top flight in five years playing good football, not spending loads and then winning the league cup. They would be lauded.
He did a good job at Swansea too, could easily have gone down again. Had to rely on youth players, because of injuries and sellings get he got them comfortable mid table.

Can't fault the Stoke board for being committed Stokies that have wholeheartedly backed whichever manager with funds. What is hard to get your head around is how such successful people make so many mistakes running the club and putting up with others tasked with running the club that are seemingly inept. They get warned of am impending car crash, they watch it start to happen in slow motion, they have ample time to avert it but let it happen anyway. Then they do their sincere best to clear up the mess and are warned that another car crash is looming. They watch it happen again, in slow motion and again decide that letting it happen again is better than stopping it. The crash happens and once again they do their best to clear up the mess and are warned that another car crash is looming. They watch it happen again, in slow motion and again decide that letting it happen again is better than stopping it. The crash happens and once again they do their best to clear up the mess and are warned that another car crash is looming. They watch it happen again, in slow motion and again decide that letting it happen again is better than stopping it. The crash happens and once again they do their best to clear up the mess....repeat. Why can't such clever successful people reflect and fix this self-inflicted mess?
