Got to think that the Aussies are going to comfortably take this series. Wow, nothing like jumping to conclusions

Fuck off Buttler. Another player who needs to up his test game. I don’t think you can blame Buttler. He shouldn’t be anywhere near the test side. He averages 33 in first class cricket. Shoehorned into the side because of his excellence in white ball cricket. This is the problem, for me he’s a destructive number 7 batsmen/wicketkeeper or nothing. At a push a number 6 with free reign providing the players around him are solid. And the fact that he’s in above Stokes who is currently our best bat with the best temperament is baffling. Need to go back to playing specialist players in position, Foakes needs to come in as well as a couple of other changes for me....

A professional cricketer must know that the wrist protection is part of the glove surely?
SURELY.

Bairstow needs to stop picking arguments with the media when he era any type of criticism and concentrate on his game, because his technique is shot to shit......

We actually had a potentially brilliant number 6 a couple of years ago in Ollie Pope. He was making a shed load of runs for Surrey at 6, so of course England call him up and decide to bat him at 3. Needless to say it didn’t work as he was exposed against the new ball. Foakes will surely come in and take the gloves at Lords.

The selectors are trying to overthink things and in test cricket it’s clearly not working......

Leach for Moeen and Archer for Anderson I think will be the only changings. Not saying I don't agree with you because Bairstow has been "dodgy" for far too long but I can't see us making multiple changes.

Shoehorned into the side because of his excellence in white ball cricket. In fairness to Buttler - he was one of our best batsmen last summer topping the averages against Pakistan and had the highest average of any specialist batsmen against India. He also turned in a pretty good showing in Sri Lanka and was second in the batting averages in the tour of the Windies (although that is a bit like winning the proverbial tallest man in the pygmy village competition!). So over the past 12 months he's been one of our better batsmen - he's been above Root, for example, in all 4 of those series. I'll therefore cut him a little more slack than some others - not much mind, he's hardly set the heather alight.

Woakes taking his frustration out over his lack of bowling time with the bat here.
What’s the required run rate for victory again.....?

This might be "over thinking" it, but is there an argument for Sam Curran as well for the exact reason Woakes is showing now? The fact he's a better batsmen than those higher in the order?.. that and the fact he has a knack for wickets.

We won’t because the message then is one of panic. It will be Archer for Anderson and maybe Leach for Moeen, could quite easily be another 2/3 on this performance though.....

I’d hazard a guess if you put him in at number 4 he wouldn’t do any worse than Denly that’s for sure....

I don't want to remind anyone but Australia have a fully fit Mitchell Starc and Hazelwood who haven't bowled a ball in this test waiting in the wings for when the workrate eventually catches up with any of their seamers.....

The Aussies were 112/7 first innings and went on to face more overs than we would have to here.
You don’t think we could do you........??? :-)

I think they’ll bring both in as well and rest two of the others. They pretty much said as much before the series.....

You don’t think we could do you........??? :-) It's funny watching all these 4s being hit now and it barely making a dent. Makes Roy's attempt to hit Lyon out of the attack even more bizarre. I reckon he could have taken him for 36 and Paine would have kept him on.
