His left-footedness is interesting.
Shawcross and Batth are right, aren't they? And I think Souttar is - and Collins too

Liam Lindsay, very good player. solid built guy. Left-footed. Strong in the air. Wants to play it out from the back. I truly hope and expect we've got 3 million plus. For some reason, some Barnsley fans rate Pinnock above him. Not for me. It was like when we had, Mawson and Roberts. Some rated Roberts above Mawson. Silly at the time and I always disagreed. Now you see the difference. Nice one mate. What's he like for pace? I wouldn't say he's slow. Can't think of a time when hes been burnt in a race or anything either. He's a talker too which Nathan Jones will like i'm sure. I'm amazed Celtic haven't come in for him yet.

www.thescottishsun.co.uk/sport/football/4372763/liam-lindsay-set-for-stoke-move-after-barnsley-accept-bid/STOKE have won the race to sign Barnsley defender Liam Lindsay. SunSport can reveal the Potters have landed the ex-Partick defender after having an offer of £2 million plus add ons accepted.
Five other Championship clubs are thought to have been keen on the 23-year-old after he helped the Yorkshire outfit land promotion from League One.
But Stoke boss Nathan Jones pushed the boat out after seeing Lindsay’s displays first-hand while bossing previous club Luton.

A very interesting signing if he's as good as described. It also fits in with NJ's focus on getting young players into the team.

It's a gamble and I don't think we're in any position to gamble after the Rowett disaster. I just hope filling the team with top end league one and steady championship players is going to work. I'm really not sure.

Yeh it's not going to work unless you have the sprinkling of quality in midfield in attack. I suppose we are hoping that will come from Powell, we definitely need more

Is this guy the bloke from the Pet Shop Boys or the bloke who used to fill in for Colin Cook on Signal Radio?

Sounds like a left footed Shawcross to me. Although, in his prime, Ryan was quicker than people gave him credit for.

A decent acquisition assuming Bruno is moving on, I think I prefer him over Pennington too unless that is more or less done and dusted?

It’s a kick in the bollox for the two young ones we ha e tho Collins and Souttar I think Collins is as good as gone. FFP is going to kill us this year if we don't get good money for at least 3 players - Butland and Allen being 2 of them. Collins being the third. In an ideal world I think they dont want to sell Collins but I can see our hands being forced due to FFP. Unless our crack transfer team pull some rabbit(s) out of the hat with N'Diaye, Wimmer or Imbula sales.

It’s interesting to see our new direction. Can’t wait to see our squad come August.

True with past managers who's development of players has been hampered by a negative approach, but I think Jones has improved Edward's, and I think his coaching team will be a lot more pro-active in their approach, particularly with a younger set of players. Here's hoping.
