Still that's 6 center halves and not an offer in sight ,hope the plan is to play him Get rid of Shawcross and Bruno if anyone is willing to pay their wages. not a chance I would get rid of shawcross, maybe offer him a new contract with lower wages but a position at the club at the end of his contract, he is an adopted stokie

Sentiment is not the way too go, he has been great for Stoke over the years but financially we're not in a position to keep offering new contracts to the nice people. Pulis was good at dishing out new deals right left and centre, those days have passed.

Better than starting the season with 3 centre halves like we did last season

Everyone expected him to be out on loan this season until rumours of Man Utd's interest began. Unless he's going to be 1st choice here, which he clearly isn't, a loan is his best option but at what level I don't know. Top end of League One, or abroad?

He should be 1st choice or 1st change here. He’s too good for League One already. Absolutely backwards club. He should be getting 25 games here.

The club need fucking if we loan him out. I'm not sure which extra games people have seen, and I've missed, where Nathan Collins got nailed-on as the next Franz Beckenbauer. Only it seems to me, that people think he's done enough already, to warrant one of the two CH berths. Whereas in reality, he's played nowhere near enough football for people to judge what he'll be like when thrown in to the starting XI, for any kind of prolonged period. I mean, just imagine if he went through a bad patch, or even, made a mistake? With this messageboard's fabled level-headedness, fairness, & complete lack of bias, people will be burning effigies across the Six Towns.

Maybe if he shines in pre-season he'll make the 1st team squad otherwise a loan is more likely

I’ve been saying it for 12 months. Who to? Because thankfully, it wasn't on here I’ve said he was class on here and that out of him and Souttar he was the one that should be played the past season just gone. That happened and he showed he could easily cope. Sending him out on loan is the cowards route. Such a waste.

This is a very sensible point to make and a good stance to take. It's the reason why a lot of young players don't come through when they should. A lot of managers get pelters when if you took a step back and looked through their eyes you'd probably see things slightly differently. On balance, they're probably right. Personally I really rate Collins on the limited evidence and think he's definitely worth a go. It's a tough one to balance out.

So we're looking at a player that right now, could well not be ready to be thrust into first team action week in and out, but you 'knew' 12 months ago that he should be? I suppose it beats every other player in world football being shite. 😶

Only at Stoke could he be seen as not ready and not worth a shot. It’s pathetic

If he has to go out on loan I'd send him to a promotion chasing league one side i.e. Rotherham, Ipswich, Bolton.
