Well, f**k me!!! Some of these comments, I nearly fell off my bloody chair.
"Totally stupid decision to sack him delusions of grandeur".
"Football has gone mental".
"Fucking disgusting decision, what are they expecting? Champions League?"
Why the hell did we sack you know who? Where are we now on the way to League One. All because some of the fans were bored!. Well we ain't bored now, it's so exciting wondering if we can hold on to a two goal lead at home to Rotherham or losing at home to the mighty Shrewsbury in the FA Cup!!!!!.

Nathan now 14-1 fourth favourite. Potter is 1-3, but if I were him I'd think twice.

We sacked you know who and then went on to achieve our highest ever consecutive finishes in the top flight until it all went to shit several years later. So that rather pisses on that nothing argument before it’s even begun. Don’t give me the Europa league argument either, we were in that by default and then he decided to bottle the whole thing for a fixture at Swansea which showed the true character of an utterly cowardly manager.

Always thought he'd of been a good Stoke manager. Wonder if Hughes will apply for the job? I've got no doubt Mark 'the stain' Hughes wI'll apply for the job, I've also got no doubt brighton will tell him to sling his hook

As has been said, it’s similar to us in 2012-13.
He’s done a great job there but got stale, the football is awful to watch, and while that’s ok if you’re doing ok, it’s not if it’s dragging you into an unnecessary relegation battle. He spent a fair wedge on players he couldn’t integrate and it sounds like things had got a bit cliquey there. Fans and players seem disillusioned. Time for a change.

When you see the figure of £135m spent over 2 years and add that to 15 points from their last 23 games, and dreary football, not sure he's got a leg to stand on. Of course, that's not stopping the national journos and their fiery hot takes!

Your Pulis obsession is just a bit weird. Your Jones obsession is weireder. How dare I get behind the manager of my club and give him time to build his own team. I should be whinging like fuck that he isn’t playing Bojan and calling for him to be sacked.

Obviously their board have seen how things have gone this season and decided to go for a change and not let things carry on to next season through blind loyalty. I remember when Southampton potted Adkins and everyone was up in arms about it but it was a good decision at the time.

He’s loves down there mate Will be interesting to see the early markets and to see if he figures Looks like Potter... Haha, let them have Potter, that'll be the final nail in the coffin for relegation next season. We need to go get Hughton before Jones wastes any money.

It’s what we should have done with Hughes. People on here said that we sleep walked into relegation. Where as the Brighton chairman has acted promptly & been ruthless. Brighton have won 3 games since the start Of December. If Coates had done this & appointee a suitable manager, we wouldn’t be languishing in the bottom half of the Championship. That's the point though, sacking Hughes was always fine if we had a suitable replacement, but we did very little to proactively facilitate that it seems. We didn't even have a replacement in the bag when the wheels fell off and he was sacked, hence we ended up with Lambert. Let's not congratulate Brighton until we see who they bring in as an alternative....

Totally stupid decision to sack him delusions of grandeur. As much as I might agree mate I remember Southampton getting reamed and laughed at for sacking Atkins and replacing him with that bloke who’d relegated Espanyol Somebody called Pochettino I think his name was ?

Let's not congratulate Brighton until we see who they bring in as an alternative.... It doesn’t really matter who they bring in with regards to my point. It’s the Brighton chairman seeing a decline of many months where they survived because of bad luck on Cardiff’s side, rather than what they produced. Brighton are being proactive & trying to avoid a relegation scrap after spending relatively big in the previous season. Where as we held on to Hughes for half a season too long, then completely messed up the replacement.

He's a good manager and will do well at his next club. But Brighton were in sharp decline and when that happens you really do have to shake things up. I think 4/5 years is long enough and a fresh face is needed on the training pitch. Good decision by the Brighton board. As for Nathan Jones, if he had a record of reasonable success in the championship then maybe but he hasn't so they wont.

Big test for Nathan if they come calling🤔 Started his coaching there Held in very high esteem Him and his partner still live down there Will be interesting if they want him I'd be staggered if a.) they're interested and b.) if he'd walk out. It'd look Quitterill-esque! Sentinel said they'd bought a house near Congleton last week Whoosh?

I have some sympathy for Hughton, his play style is borne out of the result of making a league where survival is everything to those outside the top 6. It will always appeal to the board if he can keep the club stable, at pretty low cost. To supporters though, it's static, stagnant and dire football so pressure is applied.
I personally don't think it will change too much, Brighton's squad and size means they will almost always be in the discussion and would be next year if Hughton was still there. So I can see the logic in trying to change the mentality around the club.

You could argue that if our board had acted in the last summer if Hughes tenure as Brighton have done here we wouldn't be in the mess we are now.
