Can’t do those kinky things but if you go on bbc website and read Wigan versus millwall match yesterday there’s a glowing tribute of Gregory from Neil Harris Millwall manager Neil Harris: "I have to say I quite enjoyed the game. As a neutral, it was quite entertaining. It could have been 4-4 if both sides had taken their chances. "We played a little bit more expansive football than we have done. I wanted the players to pass the ball a bit more than we have been doing, and I knew it would leave us open at the other end. "I can only thank Lee Gregory for his efforts while I've been in charge. Not just his goalscoring record but his quality as a person. Hugely popular in the changing room with players and staff. We're going to miss him immensely, but he goes with our complete blessing. It would be a great signing for somebody." Certainly seems to be the kind of character Jones has been banging on about! “It’s a big summer of recruitment but now we don’t just think he’s a good footballer, let’s sign him for Stoke City. Now we think he’s a good human being, is he good athlete, does he have a desire to do well at this level, has he been promoted throughout his career, can he play football, can he fit in and buy into what we want to do, does he add value?
“All those things – those are the boxes we tick bringing in one individual – it’s a thorough process.”

Come to think of it why the fuck did we splash £9m on vokes when we had Gregory lined up for a free in the summer?? We could of just kept crouch til the end of the season and saved ourselves the money. 🤦♂️ Maybe we need more than two or three strikers over a 46 game season. Berahinho and hopefully Diouf will be gone, Vokes' performance yesterday was impressive as he actually had the ball played into him instead of being isolated. Taking a player at this level on a free with almost a 1 in 3 rate for his club not a bad move. I'm sure he'll get more than the two outgoing players combined and bring a decent work ethic to the front line.

During sky’s elf round up yesterday they interviewed a supporter from each team by rating their teams season and their best player. I’m pretty sure Lee Gregory was Millwalls pick as stand out player of the season. 👍🏻 Good signing for me we need to get away from this big name signing and trust the manager just as Norwich and Sheffield Utd have proved.

Linked with this lad and Nick Powell, both out of contract , seems as though the fair play thing might be a concern .

Free signings don't give me the right message from our transfer team. We brought in free transfers towards the end of our prem years look how that turned out.

fed up of players without character... look to be getting one in... nope, too old. A good professional who looks after himself can easily have another good few seasons.
First 3 signings average 30, yes with half a transfer window and the day after last game of the season!
Its hardly like this is business over for the summer. Or should we miss out on a free signing, of a player with the character and experience needed, just to placate a few fuckwits on a message board to get the average age down?
Maybe part of the process and change is to focus on getting those few model pros in first, so that younger players coming in are doing so to a solid squad with the right attitude?
Jones’ comment about far too much negativity is perfectly demonstrated by some in this thread alone,

Do teams get promoted without a 20+ goals a season striker because that’s what we need ?

Also we’ve had more success with lower price deals recently, wasting 60 mill this year has not helped the cause but gaining back hopefully a 1/4 million in wages from deals out should be a bonus

Neil Harris has admitted that Lee Gregory with be an “immense loss” to Millwall.
The striker’s deal is up at the end of June and the Lions chief told the South London Press last week that he did not expect him to stay.
Stoke City have been linked with a move for Gregory’s services.
The frontman played in yesterday’s 1-0 defeat at Wigan Athletic.
“I can only thank him for his efforts while I’ve been in charge,” said Harris.
“Not just his goal-scoring record, but his quality as a person.
“He is hugely, hugely popular in the changing room, massively popular with the staff because of his honesty, his trust, his performances and his work ethic. And he’s a fan favourite as well.

You can move quick for free signings, and you also have to or else risk losing them. Also, if we're being clever and don't want to get stung by over inflated prices this summer because its us, then you start the bar low. You don't bang a 10m offer in early doors. Get your ducks lined up and plot your way through them.

A huge improvement on our current forward options. Then again John Regis would be at the moment

Let the manager put together his jigsaw - until all the pieces are in place the picture will not be clear.
Some pieces may look bland but when put together it can be a beautiful picture.
Sit back, watch with interest and enjoy the summer.

Even without being fully fit he’s scored three very different, superbly taken goals, and he can actually play as a target man, which none of our other strikers can. With a full pre-season he’ll do fine for us.

An interesting Beswicks player is Harry Toffolo of Lincoln. A 23 year old attacking left back. We've arranged a friendly already with Lincoln haven't we?
Just saying...

As supporters we should back any appointment but his reputation at his previous clubs was pragmatic but uninspiring. A manager to fight a fire rather than build a promotion wining team with a degree of style. Had real concerns about that appointment because his former clubs didn’t appear that concerned that he was leaving. I have a much more positive feel about the appointment of Jones. The indicators for taking us as a club forward are much more positive but he needs the full support of the board to do what he wants to do. We as supporters can not do much at this time other than to watch the picture build and hope it is much better than the picture we have seen dismantle over these last three years. Chill, have a few beers and enjoy the summer.

Do teams get promoted without a 20+ goals a season striker because that’s what we need ? They get promoted according to how many points they have come the end of the season🤔 Of course we need a big improvement in goals scored and not a bad thing if we have a number who can get to double figures rather than one “ star” who will probably be double marked or unavailable at some points during the season All signings are a gamble - if this happens quickly, it also sends out a positive message to others who will be available - whoever we get they need our full support

According to the Millwall manager Lee Gregory seems to tick all of the boxes in terms of Nathan Jones' requirements:
Good human being? Neil Harris... “I can only thank him for his efforts while I’ve been in charge,” said Harris. “Not just his goal-scoring record, but his quality as a person"
Good athlete and does he have a desire to do well at this level? Neil Harris... “It was always chucked at him that he couldn’t play in a 4-3-3 as a lone striker. Well, in the last three months we’ve played a 4-3-3 the majority of the time and he’s been one of the best strikers in the division. That shows his development as a player and a character.
Has he been promoted throughout his career, can he play football? He scored 20 goals the year Halifax got promoted, and scored 18 goals the year Millwall got promoted.
Can he fit in and buy into what we want to do? He is a ^hard-working proffessional. Neil Harris... “Lee Gregory’s not going to be here – and I’ve 100 per cent known that for a period – but I’ve picked him every game because his professionalism and his attitude and everything that goes with it has been first-class.”
Does he add value? He won't command a large sale price due to his age, but he is free, one would hope that the sale value is larger than the signing on fee, and if he assists in us getting promoted, the value for his services will far surpass the signing on-free.
Looks to be a good fit. Here's hoping he signs.
