Decent signing, hoping he can be a bit like Walters for us in this division.

I am reminded of the signing of David Gregory who we acquired in the 70's from Peterborough with a very good lower league scoring record, with 40 goals in three seasons in the old third division, but then only managed four goals in his Stoke career.
As quote: He was signed by George Eastham at Stoke City and there was high hopes he would make the step up a division. However, he struggled to adapt to the change in level and managed just four goals for the "Potters" in 1977–78 and was sold to Blackburn Rovers in August 1978.
Hopefully we can improve a bit on that lesson from History and Lee can make a real impact.

I must be missing something here but I will bite and ask how many Divisions has Gregory stepped up to join us?

Lee Gregory is of course from the same division as Stoke, but psychologically there must be a step up in level. He has gone from being an important player in a team fighting relegation, to being just another name from half a dozen imports in an ambitious club where he will be expected to start delivering results very quickly. He has a good career scoring record but he will now need to move up a gear and usefully contribute to an anticipated promotion push, in a role where many other good players have failed.
Other than that I have nothing against him, but I am hoping his impact is perhaps more telling than that of his predecessor.

I think he could do well
A bit of a johnny Walters ring to it, this signing. Good player, proven at championship level, popular with his former team mates and fans. Several clubs interested, several offers, but wanted to move back up north for family reasons.
I think he will be decent. Without being prolific
That's a massive upgrade on the couldn't hit a barn door at six paces, berahino / Diouf striker we have had recently.
