Whatever happened to fc united of manchester? They used to get big crowds when the glazers took over man united. I thought they would have made it to the football league FC United of Manchester have never had the financial clout of Salford though they had a relatively large fan base at one time. There is a big difference between a club owned by fans and a club owned by super rich ex-footballers. On top of that there was a lot of infighting in the club, hence they have struggled in recent years. The problems started when they tried to find their own football ground after years of playing in the stadiums of other clubs. Money has been the root of their problems, the cost of maintaining their own ground and disagreements about it was all managed.

Man City have been in there since 2002 and don’t look like getting relegated anytime soon. Man city aren’t technically a football club. More a business that got out of hand. You could say the same about us but for completely the wrong reasons!

No other club has ever been promoted to the Prem and spent 10 consecutive years there. Not a bad effort Man City have been in there since 2002 and don’t look like getting relegated anytime soon. Man City quite an exception. You are right though, were relegated once previously in the Prem but realistically apart from Man Utd/City, Arse, Spurs and Chelsea, any Prem team could go down in any one season . To do what we did was quite an achievement

Just over 8,000 at Wembley.
Must have cost more than they recouped just to open the stadium.....

Port Vale v Salford in a football league fixture 😁 Don't quite get the humour in that mate? You could actually use Bradford v Salford as a better example? Give me Vale any day of the week over these pathetic Forest Green and Salford etc. Some clubs such as Stevenage, Morecambe and Crawley have actually not progressed fan wise. Morecambe struggle to get 1000 some weeks. Football all about opinion my opinion is it is being diluted by crap like this. Conference, division 5 whatever it is now has Notts County, Chesterfield, Wrexham, Stockport while pompous gits like Giggs waltzes around Wembley.

You get where you are on merit. We need new blood in the league whoever it is.just cos you not got the support does not mean you should not get to the top. Afc bournemouth played man city. The arse and chelsea. Tottenham et al. With a small fan base. Watford are in a cup final with a small fan base should we deny them???

As always i never get my point across succintly. Probably my contempt for Salford glossing over stuff. Adam Rooney gave up the opportunity of at least 4 apperances at Ibrox and Parkhead in front of 50'000 to 60'000 , that is what a player surely wants to do, big crowds, the pinnacle of Scottish football. Adam sold his soul for forty pieces of silver to play in front of 800 at Braintree for an absolutely soulless club used as a toy to boost the egos of ex United players now that their playing careers are over. I have no time for this mob and the frenzy in August. What price that their League cup tie is shown on Sky? Wankers

You get the feeling the Salford City story is going to get bigger, not sure the support is there for them. The financial backing certainly is.Can see them in the championship with crowds of below 4000.Then you see a proud club like Bolton with massive support going the other way. It's not new or exclusive to these 2 clubs but money or the lack of it now owns football, for better or worse i'm not sure.

Their average this season is 2,500 with a high of 4,000.Capacity is 5,000 As a comparison Vales is 4,500 with a high of 7000 against our kids.
Clearly if they somehow got to the championship they'd need to increase capacity, away followings can easily be 3,000 alone

Could imagine getting up to 10000 at a push but as you say but sure they would get the crowds at least not in the short term. Big area though support can be built in places like that.

I think they might continue to rise up, maybe even up to the championship, but i reckon the class of 92 will get cold feet in a year or 2, possibly 3 if they are chugging along in league 2 with the Morecambe's and Fails..
