Yes but if he builds more muscles he will lose some of his speed. Would you say Usain Bolt is a stick insect because he seems pretty well built to me ?😉 Bolt grew up big and strong, hopefully the natural way. Thibo, at 19, isn't likely to grow much further.

I really can't understand how people can think Afobe played well today! Every time he got to the ball first it ended up with absolutely nothing. When he got into a good position he fluffed it, when getting on the ball first his passes went to the oppositon or he ran with the ball till he lost it. I really can't understand why we keep playing him at all, GET RID! Can't believe the stick he gets. In the first half he had nobody within 30 yards of him. It was consistently whacked in his general direction where it seemed his teammates hoped he out jump both centre backs, take it down and then beat them to create his own chance on goal. Realistic? Fair? Surprise surprise, when his teammates came forward in the second half to have a scout of what it was like up there he was able to hold it up and link the play. Made numerous runs where the ball wasn't quite right and was intercepted. I agree he has had a poor season but there is no striker in the World who could look good in many of our games this season given their isolation. People bave criticised him for being isolated. How the hell is that his fault?! Link up play!!!??? Is that receiving the ball and give it to the opponent? If not I really struggle to see what you call his link up play! He looks weak and loses most balls in the air, and when he finally gets into a decent position in front of goal he of course slips to sum it up. He is a crap player with a crap season who we have paid three times his value for in my opinion.

To an extent - he isn’t a lone striker and absolutely shouldn’t have been signed to play as one. But what has been his fault has been his outright laziness and dreadful first touch. Thankfully the former at least wasn’t on show today as he gave it a real go and made a nuisance of himself. I agree he isn't a lone striker and so harsh to judge him when played that way. I genuinely don't think he's lazy. I think it is both soul destroying and knackering when you are asked to chase long punts for most of the game. Many strikers would fold doing that and then be accused of being lazy when they finally do. I feel that if we get him the ball in the area he has goals in him (even though he fluffed his big chance today). He doesn’t chase though, that’s been the problem. He’s ambled back slowly from offside positions, he hasn’t closed down defenders, he hasn’t busted a gut to get into good positions when we’ve been on the attack. That’s why his good work today in terms of movement was so noticeable, because it was in stark contrast to his standard no-show.

Sadly when I'm watching I don't make notes of each time a play gains possession and passes it to a teammate so I'll have to rely on my memory of him doing that on a few occasions in the second half when under pressure from the centre back. You obviously didn't see any of that so one of us is wrong. Is he a crap player or has he had a crap season?

That hasn't stood out for me but he is a lethargic looking player. Doesn't help him when assessing his effort. Just would like to see him get to play with a partner and get chances in front of goal. His goals this season have generally been tidy finishes.

I think that's even more true when you're playing in a shit team. Strikers knowing they might not get a chance all match or maybe just one and they have to take it. In good teams you get loads of chances and look awesome when you have done fuck all else. I generally like combinations where one works his arse off and the other is a better finisher. Like maybe Okazaki or Walters used to do more of the hard miles (not that Vardy is lazy).

Second half Sam Clucas was immense . My 11 year old reckons hes had 2 very good games at boro and today. Who am I to argue? His summary "clucas never stops. Hes always available and his movement and runs are clever". Fair play. I didn't see it myself at boro but I watched him closely today and my boy was indeed correct based on today's performance. He is convinced he'll be a good player for us next season and has already decided his home shirt will carry clucas on the back.

Half hearted, arrogant tosspot from what I've seen. My lad doesn't share my view.

I thought clucas was the best player today. He was leading the press, was good on the ball, got into goalscoring positions. The only blot on his copybook was not finishing either of his two excellent chances.

I agree with those sticking up for clucas. He was very good second half. He simply has to score his chance though. With a full pre season I think he will be brilliant next year I do hope so mate. I’ve been critical of him this season but nothing would be better than seeing him - and many others in the squad - turn it on next year and consistently play like they did for that 2nd half. Thought they were excellent.

Who would offer him better wages than hes getting here?

Butland 7 - Did his job well. Williams - 8 - thought he was excellent though could have done better for their 2nd goal Edwards - 8 - getting better and better, great strike and showed his versatility Shawcross - 7- excellent in the second half when we under the kosh Baath - 7- battling performance Allen - 7 much better from Joe, he is alot better with Verlinden on the pitch who creates good movement and gives him options to move the ball forward Etebo - 6 - good second half, first half he struggled McClean - 7 - I thought he was very good today and worked tirelessly, cause problems and did useful defensive work Verlinden - 7 - its like having Shaqiri back at times, I love this player! we caused less problems for Norwich when he went off. Clucas - 7 - one of his best performances but should have buried his chance Afobe - 6 - he was very isolated and held the ball up well at times, worked hard, i think he's being unfairly criticised on todays showing.
Ince - 6 - looked classy, busy and worked hard Collins - 7- this boy is a great prospect, I would keep him in the team.
