We're climbing the table! Just another 9 teams need sanctioning and were back on for playoffs! Whoop whoop...

We're climbing the table! Just another 9 teams need sanctioning and were back on for playoffs! Whoop whoop... Don't get too excited, it's subject to appeal! A much higher deduction was touted - around 15 points I think? So maybe the 'lenient' sanction gives less case for appeal.

I am guessing that its a preagreed punishment between Brum and the EFL so no appeal (even if they have the right to)
Interesting they have taken it now (as little prospect of play offs), not in relegation bother even after it, so a good time to take it if there is one.

They're two bad results from being dragged into into it and they've just lost four games on the bounce.

Does this raise our hopes for the elusive 16th place? I have a sneaking feeling that 16th (or even 15th) place is now within our reach!!!!!! And in years to come, we will look back fondly at today's news about the Birmingham points deduction, as being the clincher which brought the prize within our grasp. I think I speak for everyone when I say that we live in exciting times! How anyone could fail to enjoy being a Stokie this season is a mystery to me.

Can we get a hit squad together and smack somebody playing for all the clubs above us?Sounds like a cunning plan.

Is there any other club we can grass-up for rule breaches? Looks like our only chance of climbing the table at the moment. Who need to score goals anyway? π

Makes sense doesn't it. No point dragging out appeals which may go on into 19-20 when this season is effectively over for them (barring a huge loss of form) so actually there's no real penalty, apart from the financial hit of finishing a few places lower

Another 14 (on a sliding scale, so bigger penalties for the likes of Norwich and Sheff Utd, who have had the cheek to be better than us) and we can get the champers out to celebrate a glorious and well deserved open-top bus parade around Stoke to mark the slaying of the mere mortals who have stood in our way

On a serious note, this is why we need to clear out the dead-wood this summer (and the fact they don't contribute if course). If we don't, I can see us in massive trouble in years to come if Coatesy hands over or passes on - I can't see Denise or John under-writing our debts, so we need to cut our cloth to ensure we can be as sustainable as possible without prem money to tide us over if we can't get out of this division next season.

We list the 15 teams above us and then write next to them what we could grass them up for to get a points deduction. I'll start off Leeds -30points (spy gate) Brentford -6 points (sale or woods to us) Swansea -12 points (sale of clucas) Any others?

Nice to think perhaps we screwed Birmingham up partly. They were expecting to generate Β£8.3 million in the Summer according to reports, I imagine a chunk of that was Butland. Lovely club, gutted for them
