It only seems about 150 years since we always beat West Brom... We were a bit better than last game, we're a bit more solid, we're a bit more creative but where's the drive, where's the penetration, where's the will to win?? And for all the small gains... just wtf is the point if we STILL don't have defensive routines strong enough to protect us against yet more unforced errors?? 5* add * if you were there please

Poor starting line up. Shawcross sub was batshit mental. 0 shots on goal.
Long term I'm backing him to build something but short term he has to make some changes as it's clear as day that these entitled shithouses really don't have a clue how to play a diamond.

The defending for the goal was beyond catastrophic and you are correct there is no point having diamond formations and trying to get players fitter and playing with more energy if you cannot do basic defending and more importantly, don't have any defenders to choose from or any competition when those players are performing atrociously. How on Gods earth he decided it would be ok to lose a left and right back in the last window without replacing any of them is beyond belief - It is up there with Hughes's feck ups. We did, apparently, have an attempt on goal today which is more than we can say of the last couple of games, although I can't remember when this attempt was. Thought they did fight hard today - so I will give them a 6

3- starting a left winger at centre forward and leaving a so called goal machine on the bench for 90 minutes, playing a guy at number 10 who was Uber wank in that role at Brentford and was worse in his 25 minutes at Hull, somehow finding a way to include Clucas. They may not be his players but he has no clue how to use them. It will be a massive summer for Jones and the club because it pains me to say it, but this is as bad as anything Rowett produced.

Starting line up was ok, and I thought we were actually on top until switching off for the goal. First two subs I thought were correct. But didn’t get the shawcross sub. He’s working with players that aren’t is and assessing a squad for next season. And I’ve still got no idea what to score him

McClean should have been taken off earlier.
Soft goal conceded (again)
It’s getting a bit depressing but I think he’ll turn it around

That’s one hell of a message he sent to £12m Afobe, sending Shawcross on for the last 5 minutes. Mind you ...........!

2. I think this is a task too big for the likes of GR and NJ - people keep saying "oh its the players not playing for him" "it's not HIS team" etc etc. That's exactly why you bring in a manager capable of dealing with the size of the job at hand. Moyes would've been OK, Allardyce could've dealt with it. GR couldn't, I don't think NJ can either... Anyway, Subs - Bobo made us a bit better but he was poor today. That's the only decent bit about his subs. Shawcross sub Mclean as a striker one 'shot' on goal Clucas He left it too late to change anything - and we were so predictable I'm starting to think he was just a bit lucky against leeds. I'm changing this to a '1' it was fucking beyond wank. Could quite happily see the back of him already and I couldn't care less what you think of it.

I wouldn't say "you don't know what you're doing.' But I would say ' Do you know what you're doing?'
I'm genuinely not sure.

I was ok with NJ until I heard his after match interview on Radio Stoke.
1 Nathan we are not improving 2 WBA are not a top club. Top clubs are in the division above us. WBA are on our level and we should be competing with them not looking up to them. 3 It is not going to be alright if we carry on like this for the next few weeks.

5 Needs to play Afobe/Berahino alongside Vokes from the start and we will score goals. Do you mean the Berahino who has struggled to score goals for over four years? Or the Afobe who is completely bereft of confidence. We would be better with Ryan up front.

When doing the training through the week, you cant Tell me theyre Just ‘going through the paces’
Hes trying to instill into them his methodes of work, his style of play, the way he wants them to link together, amongst other things.
My own personal opinion is hes trying his best
You cant polish a turd though

JMac up front? Shawcross up front? Never again please.
Our utter lack of creativity and atrocious set piece routines are as bad as anything I saw under Rowett, so most of the blame has to lie with the crowd of misfits we’ve assembled.

One up front (I’m not counting McClean) does not work for us, we don’t have any striker capable of playing as the lone man. Afobe can find his form alongside Vokes and Berahino has been better this season. The other option is Bojan but nobody else is on his wavelength.

*5 strange team selection persisting with the diamond which isn’t working and that shawcross substitution. Thought Etebo and Edwards played well but McClean Clucas and Ince were mostly poor. I’ll be at Wigan on Wednesday hope the diamond isn’t.

And whatever you think of Afobe or Berahino the fact is we are stuck with them until the end of the season at the very least, NJ has to work with the squad he is given and evolve it to the squad he wants. If he can’t make the most of the current squad then he won’t last long here, our form at present is dramatically worse than under Rowett.

4 I thought we at least competed especially in midfield but christ on a bike we are woeful at creating chances. This wonderful Diamond formation many on here get excited about is abut as entertaining as Rowett's 4-3-3. At least NJ never fails to entertain and give us a WTF moment in his selection or subs and the Ryan was was right up there. It's a classic Pub football sub, throw the big lump on up top, not seen that for some time! But for the love of god why does he think McClean is a good choice to partner Vokes?.....baffling and a bit worrying.

I'm not going to rate him at this stage. He's got bugger all to work with and is desperately trying to salvage something out of the dross. I lost count of how many times we gave the ball away today. Most of our players can't even do the basics right. That's not the fault of this manager.

5 The worst player on the pitch was Clucas again! He doesn’t drive forward with ball, doesnt get crosses in and constantly cuts back killing all momentum. He should have been the first one subbed, moving McLean to wingback and putting Afobe up front.

We got done by a training ground routine. Otherwise they were no better or worse than we were. Our defence looks a bit improved, much less panic and more control. Less impressive was our attack, it just looked a bit anonymous. Edwards played some brilliant crosses in and we never looked like getting near a head on any of them. We made good opportunities at times and somehow never managed to to get a shot away.
Frustrating, but there is some improvement.
