See ya', Pete - you big, lovely giraffe.
Was hoping you'd end your playing career with us and join the coaching team.
Sad day...

Well that's that then, no more 'when all fails on the pitch, they bring on the old man to change it' good luck Peter, that Man City goal will not be forgotten.

I like the way Crouchy gave us a wave! Great player and he did really contribute, scored some pearlers! End of an era. But one door shuts and another opens or something like that anyway. Cheers Crouchy. He deserves a clap next game.

Class act. Remember him getting his front teeth knocked out and he was tougher than he looks. Missing him already. Truly a great pro and ambassador for the club and the game. Hope he has a good swansong and bags in some more for Burnley. Thank you Peter Crouch!

Awww a very sad day really. One of the few players around that you genuinely feel is one of us!
I am about 10 pages short of finishing his book. What a great read and I recommend it to everyone. You will love him even more when you have read it. Lots of Stoke stories in it as you would expect.
Good luck Crouchy, You deserve to finish your career where you belong. In the Prem.

Watching that video made me quite emotional, some wonderful memories there. The first that set us on our way to smashing Arsenal, Wolves away just before Christmas and of course his wonder goal.
Thanks for the memories Pete, gone but not forgotten x

Thank you for all your effort and the memories over the years Crouchy.
There are occasions when it's time for all to move on in a way which suits everyone and this is one of those moments.
You'll be fondly remembered for a looooong time around here.

I was alright until I watched that tribute. At the end of the day though, he's 38 and not really contributing for whatever reason. No room for sentiment however tough it might be. It was big money that we signed him for at a pretty ripe age when we did, but you can't argue he's been a great signing for us over the years in more ways than one.
A class act on and off the pitch, a sound guy who always comes across as one of us who got lucky enough to do what we all wanted to do, but were never good enough.
There's no doubt we've got the better end of this deal but we'll miss him, or more miss the player he was.
Cheers Pete. Thanks a lot. I'll never forget that goal against Man City. I'll take it to the grave.

Christ, that compilation is a bit emotional isn’t it? You forgot how many quality and important goals he scored for us. Of course there can be no room for sentiment and this move must be a surprise for everyone but I am a bit gutted he’s not going to end his career here.
Watching that video and seeing how much he loved scoring no matter the opposition, you can’t help but love the bloke.

Thank you Peter Crouch for all you have done for Stoke City. Top bloke, good luck in the future and hope to see you return to Stoke for a game before you hang your boots up. We can then show our appreciation for your service to the club.

He cost £11,000,000, he wrecked the Pulis system, I don't think there's even been a time when he's been our very best option as a striker and he's not really done much for two years...and yet I'm very sad to see him leave, and it feels like the end of an era. He's a genuine icon. Some excellent goals in that tribute and some good memories. He must be the best header of the ball in the modern game.

I met him at training ground once, class act. Up until recently, I used to see him most mornings at Stoke station, so regularly in fact that we were on nodding terms. This daily bout of bonhomie sadly came to a crashing end when I bought a car and decided to drive to work instead of taking the increasingly unreliable train service. Although he'll never publically admit it, I think that out of all he's experienced during his time at Stoke, this will be the thing he will miss the most. If he does sign for Burnley, I might get the train to work one more time before he leaves, just so we can enjoy one final shared moment of recognition dripping in the type of awkwardness that can only be forthcoming from two blokes in their mid-to-late 30s (one of whom is a millionaire footballing legend). Goodbye Pete...and remember that wherever life takes you, we'll always have the Pumpkin Cafe. This is one of the most wholesome things I’ve ever read.

Always got the impression he was enjoying himself while working bloody hard - which is a very endearing trait for the modern footballer (Take note Mr Arnautovic and the likes)

THANKS PETE for all the great memories at Stoke. Those great goals and particularly that (should have won) goal of the season against Man City, the celebrations, and above being the gentleman of football.
When he arrived at Claytonwood in 2011 it put us on the map, and made many believe we could not just survive in the Prem, but flourish. We could attract the best. This transfer was the only one mentioned on News at Ten tonight and it did because of who he is.
Thanks Pete for the memories.

I wish him all the luck in the world.
He has had many clubs but his longest spell at all of them has been ourselves.
Happy for him but would have loved to see him appearing at Stoke on his last game before retirement.
Peter Crouch is a Stokie
