Wouldn't he to come for a medical or can they do that after? Or do they just not bother normally anyway ;-) Surely there are facilities for medicals nearby Didn't know if it had to be certain people that did it or any such facility could do it all. No idea how it works.

We've left this comically late really. Or fantastically well timed. Leaving it this late puts pressure on Aberdeen to make a decision now. They need a replacement though don't they? Could we Loan them souttar until the end of season?

Possibly could work and would help both sides. As said above as a cash strapped club it could be too good to turn down.

I was thinking this. The weather forecast keeps changing but its meant to bad again now. Be typical if the snow fucks up deadline day. Surely we have people based in Scotland, especially if he’s been watched at least 25 times 🤔and they have a fax machine 🙀 What’s a fax machine?

I'm not pretending I'm the oracle on Scottish football but just to say, having seen him for club and country, he is definitely quick and strong. All I would say is he needs coaching on positioning and game intelligence, for instance he got caught out of position against the mighty stenhousemuir recently and lost their man when they scored a shock equaliser at pittodrie in the cup If he is brave enough to even be on the same pitch in opposition to Stenhousemuir then he is made of the right stuff as far as I am concerned. All our existing back four would turn up with a sick note from their mummy - that's assuming that they came anywhere near the club at all on a matchday against the notorious team from the dark side. He'll no doubt set up his own charity to raise donations for those Stokies still suffering from that infamous day of shame - about which none of us ever speak.

As opposed to moving to Celtic, I'd guess. There was talk of celtic up here and clearly he wanted to go there, but celtic aren't interested and don't have the cash anyway. Celtic have been looking at the bargain basement slovenian and ukranian leagues Plus he'd be moving to a far superior league and a bigger shop window if he does well. Celtic's season? Dry hump Hamilton and Livingston numerous times, a couple of tasty Old Firm games and spend less time in Europe than a Primark checkout girl on a Carnage holiday.

We haven't been blessed with the best of records where Scottish defenders are concerned, have we!!!
Tosh McKinley, Steve Tweed, John Clark, Mark McNally, Steve Lennox, Dave Rowson, Steve Pearson, Dave McAughtrie, Dominic Matteo, Steve Kirk, Peter Handyside...... 😲

On the other (& knowing our 'expertise') it will just prompt them to phone Villa to get the extra million.

Can you edit your post so as not to remind us of the trauma of that day?

Wonder if he was our second choice after we have presumably run into problems with Clarke at Pompey, or was he first choice for the ('young, athletic, strong, courteous') CB gig in our new back line?

McKenna and Vokes in and 2-3 out would be a great deadline day. James Justin would make it a near perfect but I doubt that's happening.

IN Batth McKenna Vokes Justin Osborne
OUT Affelay Crouch McClean Sweeney Martina Souttar (loan) Others?
That would get the thumbs up from me as several steps in the right direction.

(Albeit I can't comment on this Osborn fella.)
Heck of a lot of "?" marks though, given the it's the 30th.
But with our slick, well-oiled transfer machine, I'm relaxed and sure they're all as good as in the bag.
😉

😉Osborne is like a better version of Danny Pugh. I do realise, like you, that we could well just end up with Batth as an incoming signing this week - not so much a Batth as a cold shower!

www.dailyrecord.co.uk/sport/football/football-transfer-news/stokes-scott-mckenna-bid-rejected-13929923Aberdeen are bracing themselves for another raid on Scott McKenna after the Dons booted out an offer from Stoke City for the Scotland star. It’s understood the English Championship side lodged a bid of less than £5million for the centre-back two weeks ago which was immediately knocked back.
Aberdeen have heard nothing since from Stoke who later signed Danny Batth from Wolves for £3m. Although the Bet365 Stadium outfit are unlikely to come back in for the 22-year-old, Pittodrie chiefs expect other clubs to attempt to lure him south.

You reckon that's lazy journalism assuming we would only be looking for one centre half or they have actual knowledge?
