I like many of you probably do know a few people that work for bet365, each and every one of them to a man never has a bad word to say about the company it’s ethos, the management style, all say that Denise is in there virtually every day, so is Peter, I am told the structure and the way of doing things is second to none and that they enjoy there employment there
So it begs the question why are the two business run in seemingly completely different ways and styles, yes I know that Denise has nothing to do with Stoke really but with such a significant investment you would think that everything would be scrupulously scrutinised as it is in the other business, or is the exposure of the brand name on the stadium and shirts enough for her to let the boys make a mess of it,
A few years ago every Tom dick and Harry was praising us how we are run , the blue print for promotion teams great owners, but we weren’t really, a lot of things were not so good even then, but being in the premier league papered over that to an extent, i think the ceo and dof believed all of that and complacency set in,
The money wasted on imbula ,wimmer etc is just a drop in the ocean to Denise really but surly pride of being excellent in everything will finally see her either get more involved or maybe pull up the bridge and walk away,?
I’m sure if the same had happened at bet 365 heads would of rolled which makes it totally baffling,

I'm guessing, after us being in the prem for 10 years, that the owners know that to stay there is not good enough no more.
Let's say we got up through the play offs, we'd probably have to spend well over 100m just to try and compete at the bottom.
Then, lets say we did that, or spent 200m on going up and got mid table again. Then what?
Let's say we then spend 300m and finish 9th, then what?
The owners now know that the fans would then want more. What another few hundred million? And so it goes on.
Now some will then say, why can't you do it by spending a certain amount but with a good manager? Yes you maybe could, but then what happens, or happened? A club with a bigger fan base or a top team then comes in for your best players or manager, and you have to try and do it again. It's what Southampton had to do and now look.
Yes that's football, but that's how I felt after 10 years of it. Everyone wants more, more costs absolutely stupid amounts of hundreds of millions.
Wolves have done well so far. Let's see where they are in 2 years time never mind 10. The fans will expect champions league by then which means them spending stupid money. Where does it end before expectation out ways realism and you spiral down under the pressure.
What are bet365 expected to spend on outgoings? Advertising and wages? I think to succeed at the football compared to the betting requires you having to spend more than what you bring in.

Is the other option, but then you've still got the same situation as my post above. Whose going come in and spend 2 or 3 times more than you bring in, which is what it would take to even try get to the position stoke fans would accept as 'where we should be.

West ham and Everton have spent more than us and the fans are still expecting more. If West ham finish 9th the fans will expect Europe next year. Over to you Karen and dildos to find another 200m.

I agree sportsman ... but these are highly renowned high flying business people, so they would of known that, or you would think they would, I think the academy is the white elephant, you mention Southampton and it’s agood comparison, look what they have bought through and sold and still have playing compared to us and they were in league 1 not too far back let’s remember, I think the family expected at least some products for the team and revenue but that is light years away even in the championship the young ones barley feature, The Coates are very quiet at the moment which at the best of times is unusual, so maybe something is afoot, who knows , but if they aspire to be in the elite again thing s have to change all over the club and soon

I read somewhere during the Prem era that we were valued at approx 250m.
Well the value of this asset must be dropping like a stone.
Oh for Denise to be a football fan.

Never at that time did I think we've finished 9th 3 years running so we should be looking to go higher. I predicted a relegation fight the following season and it was only late in the season that we pulled away and finished 13th.Again many of us saw the relegation coming last season. If fans had high expectations in those 2 seasons they were living in cuckoo land.. . along with our management/owners We need to be more proactive as a club rather than reactive but I'm not convinced those in charge are capable,in fact they've proven they aren't

The Premier League? I'd be happy with a cup run now and again, bloodying the noses of the bigger teams occasionally and playing attacking football against our peer clubs. I'm not unrealistic. I just want to be entertained when I go to the match.

Surely it started a little earlier than that: my money would be on when we allowed, an admittedly injured, Sidibe to leave the club.

I'm a bit surprised Denise is not more involved in SCFC. I know she is not a football fan, but I think it fair to say she is definitely a business fan. She is very good at the business side obviously. Maybe she could oust Karen Peschisolido as footballs number one female.
Give it a go Denise. You just might enjoy it. Call it a hobby.
Ps Can you play right back ?

Oh well, time to watch the thrilling game of citeh spending 90 minutes camped in Southampton's half. Yes and we are in such a rush to get back to the three tier league where refs are biased and we'll end up the whipping boys because we won't spend the required money to be able to compete..can't wait. Glutens for punishment. The promotion celebrations will be short lived when we realise our battle for the season ahead is to stay out of the bottom 3 like Cardiff are this season.... the manager will be abused because we're not challenging for top 8 and this place will be as dull as Blackpool on a wet January day . We must get back there, quick time !!!😁

Wolves fans will expect Europe next season, West ham and Everton both spent fortunes last 2 seasons and are still relatively shit Me personally would have been happy finishing mid table every season. Trouble is, a lot of stoke fans want more, and more, and more, and more, which is natural and why most clubs in the prem come under pressure from their fans and why managers get sacked every year. For me, the whole premier league is an over hyped greedy mess.
