Deserved, though Froome must be scratching his head... Probably cause he's Kenyan.

Apparently Fabio Capello won Coach of the Year in 2009 'for guiding "England to the 2010 World Cup in South Africa winning an impressive nine out of the 10 qualifiers played Bit of a head scratcher in hindsight... No not at all. He took over a depressed England team and stimulated and organised them to qualify for the biggest event on earth in style and comfort. No head scratching required. And that’s all he did, like many before him and after him.

It just seems odd that a guy who's "British" due to his parents and who's won 4 TDF's in 6 years (and finished 2nd and 3rd in his non winning years) as well as holding the other two Grand Tour titles as well as the TDF is repeatedly overlooked by the Beeb and beaten by a British guy who has won just the one TDF. Wiggins (born in Belgium) was the first Brit to win the TDF and won the Olympics 10 days later so he had a justifiable right to win SPOTY in 2012. Farrar (born in Somalia) won last year. I like G, and I support Team Sky but it just seems somewhat unfair is all I'm saying.

What other British coaches achieved things in 2009?

What other British coaches achieved things in 2009? Is that not the same as the last World Cup, which is my point, we achieve beyond our expectations and then are content, we never go beyond the impossible. But the team and coach still get accolades for their achievements. It’s one of the most infuriating things about supporting England.

Why are they singing 'It's coming home' (badly) ?
It didn't come home. We lost.
Thanks to Southgate unable to see the blinding obvious and make early subs. I see this morning he has got coach of the year

I thinks it’s just me, but I can’t bear this programme. Such a big deal is made of it each year and it’s just a massive exercise in the BBC bigging itself up. Bah humbug. Never watch it either, they should take the word 'personality' out of it

The winner is by public vote. The public didn't vote for him in sufficient numbers. There's nothing particularly odd about that nor is it the fault of the BBC.

The only personality on that programme was Tyson Fury. Of course he was never going to win it but he should have done

I think it's Lewis Hamilton who'll get it this year Don't be fooled by the rocks that he got He's still, he's still Lewis from the block! What a total arsehole talking about his rise to stardom from the "slum"! He's from Stevenage not fucking Mumbai! Totally out of touch with the real world. He apparently grew up in a six bedroom house.
