Again great balls into the box. Great service for a forward with any anticipation. He has none and nor does Berahino. They're never in the box at the right time. And again Rowett why leave the subs so late? We will not win games like this. We simply won't.

An Expensive Diouf. McClean cuts in nicely, puts a lovely ball smack bang in the middle waiting for someone to side foot it in. Afobe is ambling at the back post.

We need to sign someone to give him competition, it doesn't help he gets very little service but he needs to be braver, when the ball gets crossed in if its not on his head he doesn't move.

While I agree we put plenty of balls into the box, my feeling is the ball needs to come in quicker. How can a forward time a run if he's not sure how many times the crosser is going to switch feet and spin round before actually crossing it? It makes more sense doing that with Crouch on the pitch, he peels off to back post so he's jumping against the fb and timing isn't an issue.

He's fucking shite.
McClean put in 3/4 decent crosses today - Afobe....nowhere to be seen.
Like Bambi on ice.

He's isolated at times, and knocking balls up to him in the air (today against Dawson), doesn't help his cause, cuz he isn't the best in the air!!!
That said, some of his play and positioning for a striker is pretty poor!!!

Just hope a deal isn't set in stone, £12m is a lot for a player that can score if you put it on a 20 pence piece for him

i think he's a good striker.
He simply gets no service, and Rowett clearly doesn't want to play Bojan, the one man who can play the passes to unleash a striker.

We need another in January.. afobe o.k for away games but for me a big mobile unit is the order of the day for home games who can link play so we can press higher up and camp in the opposition half

Very hard to be patient with him now. He looks like a man who doesn't want to have a chance to score goals.

I don't think Bojan is the answer, he hasn't shown enough when he's been on, granted not a massive amount of mins, but for a creative player he's created very little.

I reckon we could sell him in January and get most of our money back, to someone like Cardiff or Huddersfield

Ince is supposedly gifted but despite playing nearly every game has created nothing, and after Ince we don’t have any imagination at all.

Maybe still upset at Wolves making a quick buck on him . After all he was wailing like a mard arse in his car when they signed him, ' This is my club ' . Seriously though the one up doesn't suit him, no service, no goals.

Thing is he doesn't do anything out of possession so when he's not doing anything in possession what does he offer. Keep saying it but if we had a certain type of striker players like bojan, Berahino and ince could get closer to goal and play off of him

If Rowett’s game-plan was to play with one up front in most games this season, I cannot for the life of me understand why he signed Afobe. He just doesn’t have any of the attributes to play the lone striker role. If we’re going to get the best out of him, the system has to change.
If we’re going to continue with one up front, we need to bring in somebody who’s capable of playing that role as soon as the transfer window opens.
It’s just another example of Rowett’s mediocrity as a manager.

I was told to behave when I questioned Afobe's ability and work rate after the Leeds game.
We are now seeing that he is yet another expensive flop.

He's crap, like all our other strikers His bag full of goals in the last 5 years with other teams and better support / supply would completely rubbish your claim... Aguero would struggle in this set up

It’s just another example of Rowett’s mediocrity as a manager. It's a strange one. He was the first big signing very early in the summer. www.birminghammail.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/wolves-derby-benik-afobe-nuno-14437795Very much sounds like he was swayed by Kevin Phillips' recommendation on him who seems to have him down as almost a promotion guarantee. And that all said, you'd think they'd have managed to work out some kind of plan to play to his strengths if he's going to be the marquee signing - and they don't seem to have one

He had one ball yes one ball played to him on the floor during the match and was tripped by their keeper, the rest of the time the ball was up in the air to him which is not his game especially against Dawson
