Some of the lads out there need to be recorded and have it played back to them after the match so they can understand what it's like for the poor people either side or in front of them. I'm sure some are complaining so loudly that the poor buggers behind get an earful as well.
Yesterday was extra special, I'd have paid serious money for ear defenders

What do you expect after 8 competitive wins in 2018, a conga through the stands?

They pay their money And say what they like...
Most footy fans moan like a whore with a dry fanny.

I didn't hear a whole lot of moaning yesterday really. Most anger was directed at the ref who was abysmal once again. I did hear a lot of irrational criticism of McClean in the pub before but I fully expected that nonsense.

Yesterday was extra special, I'd have paid serious money for ear defenders I think a lot of fans, like me, are unhappy because a decent squad of players are playing in a tactical straightjacket. 3 goals in the last 5 games is it? And one of them an own goal. The players look as frustrated as us. The manager and his bus load of specialist coaches need to take the bloody shackles off and have a go, especially at home.

I'm with you all the way. I have a decent chat with the people around me where I normally sit and hear the constant incessant grumbling from a few rows behind but yesterday I was somewhere else. Next to one of them....it was honestly painful to listen to.
Edit: about 20 minutes into the second half it crossed my mind to move somewhere else

Didn't hear much grumbling either - just the usual tool sat in the row in front who got so angry with James McClean I'm amazed that he didn't have a clutcher? Oh and the "Fucking Liner" too, who didn't seem to realise that: A. When a Middlesbrough player touches the ball last and it goes over the line then it's a Stoke throw-in. B. When a Middlesbrough player takes a throw-in and he ends up 3-4ft over the line when he releases the ball then it's a good old fashioned fowl throw. C. The throw should be taken from where the ball goes out - not 15m further up the pitch.

Sounds like some of you might be best staying at home if you can’t stand people expressing their right to voice an opinion.

To be fair, I love a good moan at the football 😂 I’d prefer to be praising but I don’t get much of a chance nowadays

Just a thought but maybe the moaners are the positive thinkers, maybe they arrive believing this is the game we turn things around but their expectations are turned upside down as they witness a repeat of past performances whereas those who arrive with less expectations can simply shrug their shoulders content with their negative gut feeling that it was always going to be the same old shit as before.

Would this be a good time for the club to use some imagination ? Have a section like the Crystal Palace Fanatics have protested for, but instead of fans who create a fervent atmosphere in support of the team we could have a area for those whose sole purpose is to moan, groan and vent their abuse towards the board, manager, team and individual players. A perfect section would be Block19, fans who wish to move out of this and surrounding blocks so that they could watch a match in relevant peace and support the team in a positive way could offer their seats in exchange to fans who would like to move into a section created created just for their need to vent their frustrations.

Being relegated after 10 years as an established Premier League team and then continuing to play wank in an inferior league has that effect on people, strangely.

I'm a stubborn optimist. I've decided it's the only way to be if you're going to follow Stoke. I've seen enough in 50+ years of being a Stoke fan to know that for the majority of the time the overwhelming emotion will be frustration. There's little I can do about it. I can't pick the players, I can't develop the tactics, I can't make the substitutions, there's effectively jack shit that I can do to affect what goes on on the pitch. All I can do is turn up and get behind the team. Sure, I can get so frustrated at times, in fact much of the time, but I've developed a certain sangfroid to help me deal with it.
It's a cliche but nevertheless everyone's entitled to their opinion. As things stand at the moment there's a good chance you'll be in earshot of a moaner at the match, there's plenty to moan and get frustrated at just now. Where I sit there's a sharp contrast. Behind sit two very loud, very gobby moaning gits, I tend to block out most of what they spout for 90 minutes each game.
The exception was the game v Swansea. At one particularly frustrating point one of them shouted, just as it seemed likely that Swansea might score, "Go on, score! Show these useless twats how it's done!" It's the only time I've been provoked into responding. I turned on the bloke and asked how he could call himself a Stoke fan coming out with shite like that. By contrast, in front of me sits an owd codger, bless him, who spends the whole game shouting out "Come on Stoke!" He heard the comment from the moaning git and my response, he also turned round and suggested the moaning git "Fuck off up the Vale you miserable twat!"
Moaners, whingers, happy clappers, key board managers, part-timers, it takes all sorts, the one thing we have in common is that we're all Stoke fans.
COYMP!

I think this is the factor for many, how have we managed to fuck up such a good thing so quickly and seem to continue down the same road . I rarely get angry now just sit there a bit bored . I don't agree with moaning at or booing players it won't improve them but I get why people are pissed off. I also respect those who can still find enthusiasm it must be a great thing to feel.

Your thought is wrong, I don’t believe having a go at players or the team helps. The times I see the team lifted is quite often with the “C’mon Stoke” chant. Positivity breeds positivity. I’ll get stick for this probably from a cave man.

I started to go to games in 1968. It was moaning, groaning then too. I remember the stick Jimmy Greenhoff used to get.
BUT...the big difference now is the outlets that people have for it and the audience (they think) they have for it.
Outside of matchdays, there was basically the pub and a small group of fans who were exposed to it, now the ego is fed by the prospect of a much wider audience that the www has given us with the added bonus of the anonymity that accompanies it. You can spend all day on forums moaning, arguing and whinging under the delusion that many more people are interested than actually are. I think moaning is something that becomes habitual and therefore matchday moaning is influenced by online moaning.
Maybe other factors come into it too. The fact that its quite expensive to go to a game means who may feel more entitled to grumble and the fact that our 'complaints culture' has been more encouraged in recent times.
I also think the fact that we were probably expecting to be bossing this League by now not struggling to survive in it helps to feed it too.

Little did those moaners know what the future held. Mind you I am in the Rowett out camp, because I honestly believe he is out of his depth and incapable of creating a winning side even with the talent at his disposal which is considerable. I sincerely hope I am as wrong as the moaners and groaners in 1968.
