Nothing like a thread that descends into mealy-mouthed abuse of a former player who did his best for us in all fairness. Well said. It probably was time for Geoff to move on - but it is sad to see so much abuse heaped on a bloke who always tried his best for us and who, despite some limitations, was a hugely versatile squad member, especially before his injury problems started.

Does same rule apply in Championship that player can’t play against parent club . We put a must play at right back against us clause in his loan deal. The right back at our club while we were arguably our most successful and positive under Hughes

Another 3 points for Geoff and QPR tonight.
Probably shouldn't have let him go.

We could use him. But he and Rowett did not get along. What can we do?

I just wish we had Cameron right now. From Huth and shawcross to Indy and Williams (I'd play a cone at right back)....

You don’t know what you’ve got till it’s gone! The fucking chancer, charlatan in charge, backroom ball busting fucktard Rowett pushed this by starting fucking Fletcher and bringing in Williams week after week. This fucking club is really going down hill fast with these fucking dumbass decisions.

He’s too injury prone.
We have problems, Geoff is the answer to none of them, unfortunately. As much as I love the guy.

His performance at Coventry still rankles, bizarre anyone would want him back. Slightly off topic but to see Wally with the Brolly getting that shit Mish mash of a team to be 2 points ahead of us speaks volumes doesn't it

Just had a look at QPR boards and they seem ti think his displays at CB are a big part of their improved form.
He must be playing at least as well as the pair we are putting out at the moment.

Move on, he wanted to leave, he's no great loss, good for him he's doing well but we need to be aiming for better.

Outshone arsenals midfield in his first game.
He also had a knack for breaking down opposition attacks by sticking his foot in and coming away with the ball. Not just athleticism but excellent anticipation.
The criticisms he gets are probably correct but he also had something a bit special about him that was never really persisted with.

He's played two or three games. He's not been sold He's scored one goal Well done Geoff He was painful to watch for the last two seasons, when he wasn't injured. Don't want him back. I'd rather have Geoff as an alternative on the subs' bench than Darren Fletcher! Much more pace and strength and more versatile too! I actually would rather want him in central defence instead of Williams too, who by the way had his first good 90 minutes for us yesterday, because Geoff has decent pace and can do everything that Williams can do. Williams was awful last night

True, I think QPR are seeing the benefit of him playing a run of games in one position instead of being a stopgap.

As has been the case for as long as I can remember...the loss of the player isn;t the issue, the subsequent recruitment has been abysmal.
