Means nothing now. Last season there were a lot of players that didn't do enough for the team that resulted in us going down. Shaq wasn't one of them.

Shaq's not wrong. Yes, he went missing in the odd game but he himself was virtually the only shining light in a season of utter shite.

Given Charlie's rather costly misdemeanours last season, he must have realised that he was giving Shaq an open goal to aim at.
I like Charlie, but his comments about last season can only be considered as a way to enhance his future media career prospects. Fair play to him.

Charlie Adam is a complete twat trying to make a name for himself by slagging off his more talented teammates. Shaq was pretty reserved in his comments.

Still baffles me that Charlie Adam, the guy that lays down his athlete card with reckless abandon, the single most unfit player I've seen since John Parkin, a player that let himself, his team, the club and us down on several key occasions (a few that Shaqiri eluded to) and potential turning points in a relegation season- has the fucking stones to call out our only creative, top scoring player last season. I was never Shaqiri's biggest fan and he did go missing at times during a season, but fucking hell fire...

Watching Shaq playing for Liverpool shows what a class player he is. He was wasted with us unfortunately. There is possibly an element of truth in that statement and he's undoubtedly a good player. However, when you see his busting his bollocks in a Liverpool shirt in a way that he never once did in a Stoke shirt, is a bit galling in truth. Shaqiri thought he was too good for us and more often than not played like he was doing us a favour. He can't take that attitude for Liverpool and he will benefit for it. He was good for us at times but he always left me with the feeling that he could do so much more if he actually wanted to. He was quite happy to do his little bit then expect everyone else to do the rest.

We went down because Charlie Adam got sent off and missed a key penalty.
We also went down because Lambert built the team around Shaqiri, who simply didn't bother turning up after he had a few good games after Christmas.
We also went down because Butland started chucking the ball in his own net.
We were relegated because our star summer signing wasn't very good and preferred to play in a reggae band in Spain.
We were relegated because Glen Johnson wasn't a very good full back.
We went down because Ryan gifted Palace a goal on the penultimate day of the season.
We went down because we were not good enough, collectively and individually. Not one player last season deserved to call themselves a Premier League player. I'd rather we drew a line under it and moved on, rather than have certain players in the media accusing players who have left the club of not being very good.

Shacker is bang on.
Equally, Charlie was out of order dissin' any of his team mates, let alone the most effective one.
Very much on thin ice - which, for a fat lad, is a very precarious position to be in.
Lord knows why we are paying someone the money he's on to rock up in the U23's every week. He's lucky to be here imo.
All that said, it speaks volumes about how crap we've been of late that people actually thought he was one of our better players midweek.

Swanned around for most of his time with us, picked us lots of injuries that never affected his international career, berated team mates, never tracked back, never worked for the team. Hard worker indeed.

1. He wasn't a team mate by then. 2. Shaqiri shagged his team off in the press mid season.

Tosh, Brighton at home he dragged us back into it we all know what happened. Man of the match v Huddersfield with an assist, Leicester away he put us ahead and Butland had a clanger. Put us ahead at Bournemouth and set up several chances to seal the game which we squandered and we ended up losing. Tottenham at home he sets up Diouf with a ridiculous defence splitting pass, we end up conceding straight away. Getting 4 more points out any of those games would have seen us survive, and being as though we threw 2 away in the 15 minutes of games twice and then a point on the road at B'Mouth I don't get how it can be said he didn't turn up after Xmas. He actually did enough to see us survive and was let down by others.

1. He wasn't a team mate by then. 2. Shaqiri shagged his team off in the press mid season. 1. I think you'll find he was. I'm referring to his spout off on R5 at the end of the season before Shaq departed for the bin dippers. And that said, the exact chronology of it matters not; his comments referred to games when they were team mates, or 'squad' mates if you want to be picky.
2. He might well have done although I'm not familiar with his comments tbh. And while I agree that you win / lose as a team and all that & you shouldn't ever call out your team mates in normal circumstances, if anyone in the squad could justify it, he could.
And that, despite your perfectly valid observations - which makes a similar point to the one above on Charlie - it just shows how crap we actually were.
In other words, despite all those deficiencies, he was still our best player.

Ok, stand corrected. However, it's a cunts trick saying it mid season during a relegation battle rather than at the end of a season when it's obvious someone can't wait to get out of the door. He might have been or best player but it was an incredibly low bar.

How has Adam been allowed to talk absolute bollocks to the media for a while now without any sort of repercussions?
It’s snakey wankers like him that are one of the main reasons we’re now getting the sausage in a lower division, if he played anything like he chatted shite he’d be a ballon d’or winner.
Still, he’s starring for the under 23’s whilst Shaqiri is playing for Liverpool, who fucked him off after about 5 minutes to us once they realised what a liability he is, there’s less bitter in a brewery.
