I have him 16th below those who really caused our demise and a selection of wastrels and weasels who although not directly involved, whose cancerous presence around the edges of the catastrophe were far more destructive. P Coates J Coates T Scholes M Cartwright M Hughes M Bowen (I’ll let Eddie off) Jese Imbula Wimmer Johnson Affelay N’Diaye Sobhi Lambert Lamberts management team (as a whole) Adam Butland 16th is still no position from which to be slating someone who would be around 380th on the list though is it.

Watching Shaq playing for Liverpool shows what a class player he is. He was wasted with us unfortunately. There is possibly an element of truth in that statement and he's undoubtedly a good player. However, when you see his busting his bollocks in a Liverpool shirt in a way that he never once did in a Stoke shirt, is a bit galling in truth. Shaqiri thought he was too good for us and more often than not played like he was doing us a favour. He can't take that attitude for Liverpool and he will benefit for it. He was good for us at times but he always left me with the feeling that he could do so much more if he actually wanted to. He was quite happy to do his little bit then expect everyone else to do the rest. Have to agree - played well at times but was often either injured or lightwheight and flattered to deceive for much of his time.

I think about 60 minutes in on New Years Day, Shaq was in most peoples top 10

1. I think you'll find he was. I'm referring to his spout off on R5 at the end of the season before Shaq departed for the bin dippers.
2. He might well have done although I'm not familiar with his comments tbh. And while I agree that you win / lose as a team and all that & you shouldn't ever call out your team mates in normal circumstances, if anyone in the squad could justify it, he could.
And that, despite your perfectly valid observations - which makes a similar point to the one above on Charlie - it just shows how crap we actually were.
In other words, despite all those deficiencies, he was still our best player.
Ok, stand corrected. However, it's a cunts trick saying it mid season during a relegation battle rather than at the end of a season when it's obvious someone can't wait to get out of the door. He might have been or best player but it was an incredibly low bar. I think we agree:
they were both out of order with the verbals (and interestingly, both seemed to get away with it Scott free)
with that in mind, we were probably even more pants last season than we perhaps realised at the time?

I think about 60 minutes in on New Years Day, Shaq was in most peoples top 10 True, but 1) we weren't down by then, and 2) he bloody bucked his ideas up afterwards under Lambert. To flip it round, if we'd managed to get the four extra points to stay up where do you think Shaq would have ranked as responsible for our survival? I can't see how he'd have been outside the top 1..

How has Adam been allowed to talk absolute bollocks to the media for a while now without any sort of repercussions? It’s snakey wankers like him that are one of the main reasons we’re now getting the sausage in a lower division, if he played anything like he chatted shite he’d be a ballon d’or winner. Still, he’s starring for the under 23’s whilst Shaqiri is playing for Liverpool, who fucked him off after about 5 minutes to us once they realised what a liability he is, there’s less bitter in a brewery. Because he's part of the old boys club, and he knows certain people at the club would blame jese and co before adam

Who is Adam to take a bash at any player after he practically relegated us himself. Nonsense. You must have memory loss then.

You must have memory loss then. I’d hazard a guess that all those 3 and 4 goal hammering had more to do with it than Charlie

You must have memory loss then. Nah just judgement of what actually caused a relegation that was two years in the brewing and it wasn't Charlie Adam.

It's hard to back Charlie, but he certainly wasn't responsible for all the lost points that put Stoke in the position to where his "missed" points meant something. Shaq certainly manned up the last season, but the season before last had me questioning his commitment, so hard to give him a full pass either.

He's right. He was our best player last season by a country mile. That's like saying John Merrick was miles better looking than Mezut Ozil.

Don't forget his individual decisions that cost us big points. What about all the other numerous "big" points we lost that he didn't cost us, which far outweighed the few that his errors did. You're talking shit.
