The only mistake Rowett has made is not dropping some of the other useless sacks of shit as well. And only starting with one creative player. And not designating a penalty taker. And all those mental substitutions in previous weeks. I was specifically talking about the Bauer situation

He’s only said he’s accountable because he’s just too darn cuddly and trusting. It’s a humblebrag, not a genuine acceptance of responsibility. His tactics are as big a problem as anything. He's right though. The defence is letting the rest of the team down massively. Get that right and we'd be ok in my opinion but he fell into the trap of believing senior pro's like our captain would come good. The defence is letting the team down but why can’t he organise them when Lambert could? The team he’s trying to build is plodding and moribund with very little creativity in it. Teams are going to come to Stoke like Wigan and Blackburn did and invite us to break them down, how are we doing to do that with full backs who hardly ever push on, no creativity in the middle and a striker on the wing?

Some of the modern day footballers are truly a bunch of arrogant overpaid overhyped bunch of nonentities they appear incapable of behaving like real professional sportsmen using social media their agents or newspapers to moan about their lot didn't this happen last season as well its not just at stoke this is happening I despair at what our game has become when I look back at some of the proper professionals we had under Waddington Durban macari and pulis.

Holding Lambert up as some sort of shining beacon of defensive stability is a bit rich when he had half a season to stop us getting relegated, and failed miserably. Rowett is putting too much faith in a few players for some reason and the fact that he won't play Bojan who is our only real creative player, is a bit of a mystery, but our defence is comfortably our biggest problem and our captain is completely shot to shit regardless of any tactics the manager might be employing.

Lambert was absolutely wank. I don’t seek to praise him - it’s more a crushing indictment of Rowett that his team is comfortably worse and he can’t even replicate the pitifully slight improvement Lambert could. I’m absolutely astonished at the free pass some are giving him.

I truly don’t give a flying fuck what Bauer has done. Rowett shouldn’t be using a presser to deflect after a performance like that. Bauer hasnt been near the team for over a month, and Rowett needs to focus on addressing the absolute shit show that he’s presiding over on the pitch. I’m honestly starting to really dislike the bloke - something about him isn’t right, and he seems unwilling to take responsibility for anything. Deflecting my cock. Have you seen Bauers stupid messages this week? The manager was asked a question about a player who spends more time on social media than he does kicking a ball. He not kicking a ball because he’s not being picked. I’m really not sure how a social media post from a player who hasn’t played for a month is at all relevant to today’s shit-show. It’s absolutely deflecting.

A manager with Rowett’s reputation and this squad should be able to at least find a happy medium though, no? As Trouserdog mentioned, he’s setting the team up defensively with a team that can’t defend.

I would agree with Rowett, that Bauer was out of Order. I would suggest that three managers have been unable to get this shower to defend appropriately.I would think that anyone in their right mind would agree that our defenders are not performing to the levels expected..What do you think? How exactly was Bauer out of order? It's pretty straightforward really if you listen to the interview. He spoke to Bauer about it yesterday and Bauer basically stuck two fingers up today! As has been said if your boss tells you not to do something it's undermining his authority if you go and do it again. I'm surprised at Bauer. All this shit is disrespecting the club and the fans if players are acting like this.

Not heard it, but if he’s talking about a player who’s not been in the squad for ages in response to that performance today, then that is some spectacular deflection taking place right there. First sign he’s shown of being under some real pressure. He hasn't. He ripped into the defending, ripped into Shawcross for the 1st goal, said he has told the team he will make changes and they won't need to ask why as today's performance is why, Changes will be made, He has kept some players in the team who he shouldn't have and they will be dropped now. Then at the end Bauer got brought up, he said he should stay off social media, actually work hard in training and he will get back in the team. He is currently not. You're right mate but you're pissing in the wind, the lynch mob is out.

Rowett had a full pre season to assess his defence and what did he do, he brought in two loan players, both who are no better than what he already had. He also didn't bring in cover for the left back position, which is criminal, and yeah Clucas could play there (when fit), another square peg in a round hole. In respect of Bauer we've seen an international full back who played well in the world cup and who was one of the bright sparks late last season reduced to a playing in the under 23's under Rowett's tenure and scapegoated, even when he's not playing. Rowett's a safety first, risk averse manager who distrusts creativity and the only tactics he's mastered are his blame avoidance, blame deflection tactics.

He now looks like a weak and ineffective leader I don't think he has a lot of authority with our highly paid 'Premiershit' wasters. Sadly he's out of his depth. He'd have more respect if he now used limited players, who actually give a fuck, in a recognisable system! We've already seen in this division the team and work is everything!

Stupid from Bauer. He shouldn't have done what he did but what Rowett said needed to be done behind closed doors likewise blaming Ryan for the first.
There's no issues thinking these things but humiliating players in interview will just alienate them.

I'm sorry but I totally disagree, when after 10 games you start publicly blaming players that you've pretty much consistently picked, you've got a serious credibility issue. The players will see that he's more interested in protecting/saving himself than his players and if he can publicly sacrifice one today who's next! Weak leader on borrowed time
