Just talking on the other thread about a visit in Edinburgh to see the Greyfriars Bobby statue and being underwhelmed.
On a grander scale many years back we were in Canada and arranged to meet up with some friends who were in New England. We met them on the Canadian side and the youngest member of the party said "Where is it" to us as we were looking over at the falls in their full glory, trashy shops behind us
The worst I can remember recently was Sutton Hoo with the kids about 5 years back. Someone spending a few hours on a JCB could have knocked the site up. All the gold and treasures had been looted by London. I caught the kids whispering in front and when I asked them to share the response was "This is just like a crap school trip"
What do you expect from a tribute to a little dog? Sidney opera house perhaps, the hanging gardens of babylon or herds of Wildebeast strolling majestically....."!

Stonehenge Massively disappointing. I've not seen it, but I suppose I'd still want to go see it if/when I make it over there. Looks pretty obvious to me that it would be disappointing unless one was really into the whole Druid culture--so it's more of a check the box visit I suppose. Something that was not disappointing was Giza and other areas of Egypt. Amazing--every bit of it, although the folks trying to earn a living off the tourists were a bit irritating, but I can't blame them really.

Dublin was massively underwhelming for me. Expensive, grim and lacking the charm that it's billed as having. Would definitely go back to Ireland as there's a lot more there that I'd like to see, but Dublin was a bit of a let down. Walked right in to that one hahaha! Had me rate laughing haha! Accidental Partridge.

Miami
what a dog hole
the first thing i saw was a knife fight on South Beach, found the Miami Ink tattoo studio, there was drunks everywhere
stupidly priced drinks
Mrs Flea79 was given a good talking too from the law for being drunk and rowdy...
all in all i was glad to get out the place
also the big golden buddha up the mountain in Hong Kong, it was a fat bloke with big ears, food was shit there too

Durdle Door in Lulworth Cove, Dorset - seen loads of photos of it and it seems massive, but when I got there and saw it up close it just wasn't as big as I'd imagined.

Wasn’t to bad tbh it was a full day trip coach to a small airport outside Vegas then onto a very small fixed wing 20 seater plane, fly for 30 mins over the canyon land at some Indian reservation, have a trip down the river(that was a bit naff tbh) then jump on a helicopter(a first for me never been on one before and was bricking it) had a scary ride up the walls of the Grand Canyon I couldn’t believe how close we got to the side (sadly one of these came down last year)then lunch at the top of the canyon before heading back to the airfield for another 30min flight back to Vegas all this for £200. Sounds fantastic. Everyone I've ever spoken to has enjoyed the experience. I took a helicopter from Vegas via the hoover dam and then landed at the bottom of the canyon. It was properly amazing and the canyon is taller and wider than you imagine. That was worth the Vegas trip on its own (didn't like Vegas that much and wouldn't spend more than 2 days there if I could do it again).

Looks good from outside but don't go inside. They ran out of money so just kept it as bare concrete everywhere. There's better brutalist architecture in Stockport.

Berlin Wall is a coloured in garden fence.
Sagrada Familia is a lot smaller than I imagined.
Golden Gate Bridge is really impressive, especially if you go up to those bunkers on the other side of the river.
Seeing the Hollywood sign for the first time is pretty surreal.

When I visited the golden gate bridge I told the tour guide we'd got a more impressive one in Hull! Can't agree about the grand canyon. I thought it was awesome. Flew over it, landed in it, the whole shebang. Beautiful place. I agree about Vegas though. Two days is more than enough.

Stonehenge – Much smaller than you think it’s going to be.
Alton Towers – Went there in the ‘60s with my parents. It was just a stately home & some gardens. Piss boring.
Eros statue in London – It’s a bit small.
New Scotland Yard – Agree with other comments that the revolving sign is tiny. Bank of England – That’s pretty small too.
Lands End – Crap.
World In Minature in Cornwall – Smaller than I thought it would be!
Derren Brown – Saw him on tour a few years ago, was fairly underwhelmed by much of what he did and thought I could figure out at least half of it. (I was probably completely wrong though)

I wasn't overly impressed with Niagara Falls myself, then again I wasn't overwhelmed with Angel Falls either, could only see it by plane tho, probably more impressive from the ground. Generally speaking I like a good waterfall Pyramids I was pretty meh about too, went to see them one year, the next year went to Cairo to play rugby, out of a full coachload of Royal Navy folk, when asked only 4 wanted to go and see the Pyramids. They sent them in a taxi. I might appreciate them more now I'm older.

Each to there own, but I was quite awestruck in there.
The Eden Project on the other hand, meh, a few wanking monkeys might have livened it up a bit.

The new "Wembley of the north" aka Vale park was a bit of a let-down! Its not a joke either. That was their intention back in the early 70's or whenever. Remember seeing an artists impression of it.

I mean what have the Romans done for us? I don't reckon much to their architecture. That tower in Pisa was shite. Their motorway bridges are dodgy and now some church in Rome as collupsed.
