Agree with most sacking the manager now would not help much. Sacking Scholes and Cartwright would help. Get someone in with the balls to do what is needed. Negotiate buyouts/terminations of contracts to get rid of the crap clogging the club, empower the manager to do what is needed by bringing some youth into the first team (even if they are not playing much), bench or send home those with crap attitudes and get the commitment back into the squad. But would Pete sanction such a move, probably not. That may be where the biggest problem is. I agree Scholes and Cartwright need to go but their departure would have no immediate impact no need to negotiate buy outs or terminations they impact negatively on cash flow and FFP, simply tell the bad apples to stay at home. We quickly need discipline, focus and belief imposing within the squad and if Rowett can do it he needs to go because we are looking into the abyss if we do nothing. That of course leaves the very difficult question of who to replace him but we can't risk doing nothing. Guess my comment would make more sense if money did not matter, but of course in football these days it is (sadly) probably what matters most. So fair assessment.

You can’t just keep sacking managers, it’s obvious the problem lies deeper than that. Rowett puts the players on the pitch, yes I know he picks them, but he doesn’t instruct them to defend like schoolboys does he? Ince was injured that’s why he was subbed. You could argue Afobe should have been subbed instead of Berahino but despite how badly Afobe was playing you’d still expect him to score before Berahino would. Bojan played out wide because quite simply there’s no one else who can play there. The only argument from me against Rowett is stop picking Fletcher!! Baeur could have played wide and better than Bojan in that position. IMO. So Bojan on for Berahino and Baeur for Ince that's passing and pace in one easy lesson.

A part of me actually hopes Rowett resigns because I just can't see what sort of strategy or system he's trying to implement. He looks like a rabbit in the headlights and he seems unable to get any sort of response from any player in the squad. His constant criticism of the players he inherited is having an adverse affect on players already on their knees confidence wise whilst his praise of the players he has brought to the club is a sign of personal vanity. Last night was a sickening realisation that we have a manager who is out of his depth. The only worry is if Rowett left the club the board will appoint someone equally as bad or more likely, even worse.

I actually think last night is more of an indication of what a soft underbelly we have. We have made small steps with each performance including the first 25 minutes of last night. We absolutely capitulated after the first which was against run of play. What concerns me wqs the substitutions. Berahino was half decent and subbed. Putting bojan left wing. The commentators mentioned last night we were getting torn apart down the left but nothing was done. There are no leaders on the pitch. No Walters, Whelan, Faye, Begovic, Higginbotham, Delap or even a Fuller. Absolutely nobody on that pitch to grab the squad by the scruff of the neck

I remember Paul Lambert not long after he got the job saying that at Stoke [You can't keep blaming the manager all the time, you have to look at other reasons for failure] and he was spot on and if the consensus on this board is typical, we all know those who are to blame. If Gary Rowett does a good job here it will be in spite of those above him not because of them.

Rowett is wank and will continue to be so. We can carry on making a bad fist of it and probably will but he will only keep us up at best. Colossal fuck up. I said it with Lambert, and Rowett will be worse. Guaranteed.

Do you think we would have been in this mess had Big Sam or TP been appointed. No

No-one could have looked at his team selection last night and felt we had any hope of winning.
The players have not performed well for a while but they just cannot have got THIS bad so quickly.
They clearly have no idea what they are supposed to be doing. We have quite an attacking midfield and he doesn’t know how to attack so they all look out of place.
How he thought James McLean was a good signing I will never know....
And we have Bojan sat on the bench who, although he’s not the same since his injury, has more talent in his little toe than the rest of them...
Also, did anyone notice him trying to get back and make a few more tackles and even win headers last night...he didn’t win any of them but bless he’s obviously trying (although in my opinion that should never be his job and the others should be able to a decent enough job for him not to have to!)

Honestly, I'd rather sack scholes and carto at this point and rebuild management.
