I'd hope so but honestly i don't have a fuckin clue what he'll do. It's the only formation we've played where we've had decent spells that doesn't leave us needing to bypass the midfield. It may well be the same as tonight, with Etebo for Fletcher, Cuco for Erik, and Souttar in for Williams, but who knows. I don’t have any confidence he’s going to start playing a creative player in a number 10 role at all. Judging by his team selections so far I'd say anything is possible. He really has no idea what works and what doesn't so I doubt you can rule anything out.

Well you can just imagine the scene in the boardroom after we got well and totally stuffed and relegated. Well who should we get to get us out of this mess? "Oh I know" pipes up old Coates - "I know a fella at Derby - he'll do a magnificent job. Shouldn't cost too much either". "Sounds like a plan Dad", pipes up Coates Jnr. This club has completely totally and utterly shit it. It was a well received appointment by most on this message board. It was a cheap appointment on every fucking level! Who the fucking hell would ever appoint PFL or GFR?

He literally did to be fair. At the complete expense of the other end and he was a disaster, but there was more of a discernible plan and we weren’t the total shambles we’ve become again. No he didn't. Go back and analyse the stats game for game against the same opposition. Football doesn’t work like that. When you’re on a rotten run and can’t defend, the team you drew with 0-0 in August can gub you 4-0 in February. Even then, we conceded fewer goals against Tottenham, Manchester City, Leicester, Liverpool, West Ham, Huddersfield...

Lambert did get that defence tighter though we just couldn't score Rowett seems to have taken us back to Hughes end of the road era, it's unbelievable really no he didn't. Cause he did we conceded less than under Hughes but couldn’t win games, yes it wasn’t great but it was better than Rowetts managing at present. The problem with Rowett is he does not know how to handle Premier league players which some of our team still think they are and on another day in another team may well be but his sgt major attitude doesn’t cut with this type of player in today’s world. Plus he looks tactically short in knowing how to set up a team or change a game

He literally did to be fair. At the complete expense of the other end and he was a disaster, but there was more of a discernible plan and we weren’t the total shambles we’ve become again. We were great for the first 30 mins tonight. They score a goal and our players start to hide (especially the midfield). We need a big win to boost them, or to bomb out half our squad. Rowett's game plan was working until the players threw the ball in their own net 3 times. The idea is to grind a win to build confidence, it was working, but so many of our players are mentally weak. Allen and Fletcher, alongside Ryan and Erik, seem to be the main culprits. That’s true but after the first goal he should have been on that touchline orchestrating a change then at half time a change in personnel which he did albeit enforced by Inces injury yet that changed showed just how tactically inept he is no way should Boyan play on the left wing when you can juggle it to get him sitting behind a striker. From the outset I commented down there that that game looked ideal for Boyan from the off if he was playing behind the striker

I will say it looks like this job, or at least the task of this season is too big for Rowett. However, I think a great deal of managers would struggle to get anything from this sorry shit show. Both on and off the pitch.

I don’t follow popular opinion that pre-season isn’t important and it’s just for fitness.
It’s where you ingrain the win mentality and positivity.
