The Coates family sit on a pile of putrid excrement entirely of their own making. The two biggest sources of this shit show of a decline remain in situ, so arrogant and comfortable in their own positions they think its funny to make another 'amusing' video about Pizzas as if that 'ambition' video didn't embarrass them enough.
If we fall through the trap door again, which in no way seems implausible at this stage, everyone in positions of power at this football club will have the stain of it on their arrogant piss taking consciences forever.

I think tonight has already flipped the switch Momo, we were never going to have much patience after the complete abortion that was last season, there’ll be another “storming of the boardroom” before long I feel, and that’s not hyperbole.

Players' confidence is below zero. We were doing well, then they got a shite goal. After that it looked like we were a pub team.
Big big shakeup in players needed. I imagine Rowett will do it. Board need to learn that signing aged players with 'good pedigree' doesnt always work.

McClean, Williams etc. A big shake up in players isnt just whats needed. A hungry board who actually know whats going on in the club and dont just throw money at signings. Scholes and Cartwright. I'm struggling to think of a decent signing we've made since both of these have been at the club. Tactics. Constantly twatting the ball long to Afobe is not going to work Manager. Constantly picking players who are badly out of form. See Shawcross Pieters and Fletcher. Players. Too many players who don't want to be here. I read the other day Choupo Moting turned down Huddersfield as he wanted a bigger club. The whole situation is fucked and its going to take a long time for the club to recover from this. |

Don't think the club is quite toxic from top to bottom, but there's a definite problem in hiring a cheap mans version of Tony Pulis. If they wanted a manager who plays a side like Pulis, who manages a side like Pulis, go get the gold standard and get Pulis, or get Allardyce.
The players aren't terrible, but there seems to be no plan. Fletcher is possibly suited to being the deepest of a middle three, but him and Joe Allen seemed to be tethered together with no thought or instruction on what they should be doing tonight. Because they're both seemingly playing the same role of holding midfielder, there is a massive 40 yard gap between midfield and attack. Neither one of Berahino or Afobe is of the mindset for coming deep, so it doesn't work and it doesn't seem like either one of them were particularly instructed to be that link-up role.
Joe Allen is awful when he's being asked to do everything, he's not Paul Pogba, if you put him in a narrow attacking midfield role alongside Bojan and A.N. Other he probably looks a lot better - like early in his time at the club.
Tonight we played a team with pace on either side at fullback, by trying to exploit their fullbacks with players who are slower than their fullbacks. When Bojan finally gets on he can play some good passes, but he's got no one coming short again because someone who is suited to it - like Allen - is playing far too deep. The forwards still aren't suited for coming deep and doing that so Bojan clearly needs to be in the middle of say something like Allen - Bojan - Affelay (or say Ince who's been told to stay narrow) and then having someone ahead they can play it into.
The team could easily be salvaged, could easily be playing good, purposeful and attacking football. Bielsa has Leeds doing it, even players who were on the scrapheap there last season. Wigan have a bunch of league 1 players doing it. It just needs a manager who has a plan of attack, with some actual consideration for who we're playing.

I don't think it's Toxic.
It's a shambles, full of arrogance and denial but not necessarily toxic. It could become that soon though.
On the pitch we're a mess. We've got good players who seem to have forgotten the basics.
Off the pitch we've probably got people who are still naive and clearly have limited/no experience at this level.
The premier league is a different beast and now we don't know how to operate at this level - maybe we're still portraying the image of grandeur as a top flight club and doing that to get the players in. Maybe there needs to be some acceptance from everyone, some honest talking, that we're not actually that good and let's start with the basics again.
Clean sheets are a must now.
Either that or just carry on, what's the worst that could happen anyway?

We need a new on the field capitan that has passion and we need some pace in the back 4, not all but 1 on each side.
Joe is almost expected to do all the mid field running with sod all help, if he was out then how would we play?

Something is going on behind the scenes. To be losing 2.0 at half time and not have one attempt in the second half says something is wrong. Either the players dont give a fuck or the manager is inept...maybe both!!!

The problem was always bigger than Hughes........he was a symptom of it in the last couple of seasons. He needed to go earlier but the lack of action revealed the lack of care coming from the top. |
