I cannot give him more than 4 while he continues to pick Fletcher. And what, in the name of all things holy, was he doing playing Edwards over both Bauer and Martina? A truly bizarre decision! Bauer was deservedly dropped he was poor in both the other games, but Martina has only just walked through the door, he was never going to start today.

2- I'm sorry but anyone who starts with that midfield doesn't know what he is doing. I'm not sticking up for GR but what midfield do you want him to play ? As wank as it is, it's the best we've got. A point away from home though its a 5 from me. We are bloated with an array of midfielders, all individually good (or were). Its not working by a long stretch, its the Managers job to sort it Im afraid.

Buck stops with the manager I'm afraid and hes been worse then the players. Even pundits commenting they they see no pattern, no way of playing. That is a poor manager in my opinion. Could you see Bielsa, Alladyce or Moyes playing with so little shape or a system ---- not a chance. Somebody will have to be brave soon and get rid of him while we have time.

3 better than last two games but not good enough , Fletcher was absolutely awful again he offers nothing Whatever. McLean is a very poor player but is at least mobile. At the moment promotion is out of the question It rate Rowett not the players.... I know, my point was more that he picks them disputed these obvious failings so it counts against him. To be fair I didn't make that clear with how I worded it.

I can see why he's picked Fletcher tbh, he hasn't been the worst midfielder thats played so far this season, unfortunately.

Positive 7. May be a female view. Only week 3. We've had 3 matches. Two away. I feel we are battered and bruised. From our past managers and matches. It going to take a few games. Mountain to climb. Today we settled in to the championship You mean, women are the ones talking sense about this? Surely not...

I cannot give him more than 4 while he continues to pick Fletcher. And what, in the name of all things holy, was he doing playing Edwards over both Bauer and Martina? A truly bizarre decision! I said before a ball was kicked that the frantic pace and physicality of the championship would not suit Bauer and it has proved to be that way. Rowett will not pick him again and rightly so in my opinion. Therefore before the loan window closes and with the distinct possibility that Martina is also an absolute load of toss he has to stick Edwards in to see if he not just viable backup for Martina, but also capable of holding down that position till xmas - should Martina turn out to be another holocaust signing. It was the right decision. I am going to go one step further and say Edwards did well today - yes he made some mistakes, but considering his age/experience and how much game time he has had - he did ok. I am going to go even one step further than that and say he is exactly the type of player we need at the moment: Young, athletic, hungry and a bit of a rottweiler when he is defending. Yes we all want a proven right-sided defender at this level, but we ain't going to get one and sometimes it is worth giving a youth a chance and taking a bit of a punt - what the feck of we got to lose. Regarding the game and marks for our manager: When Rowett came he made all the right noises and we were linked with players like Chester/Ritchie - it was exciting times and got all our hopes up again, but then the transfer team kicked in and it has all gone downhill from there. I feel a little sorry for him as we all know the squad is very thin on quality/depth/attitude and he has not been able to strengthen the way he would have wanted - on top of that he is realising that some of the players he thought would be quality are actually shite. Today was ok in patches and we looked a lot fitter and sharper which was encouraging. Shawx and Allen look to be getting up to speed and Afobe was a handful for most of the game. I was sat with Preston fans today and when we got the 2nd goal they were very worried and we actually looked like a team that was going for the win and even controlling the game for 10 minutes - what was this alien feeling I was having Alas it all went pear-shaped when Afobe was taken off, a similar effect to when Salah went off against Madrid, as in the sole threat from open play was taken out of the equation - queue more players getting forward for Preston and an uncomfortable last 10 minutes. Unless Afobe was injured that was a very negative sub, so I knock him 2pts off for that, 1pt off for starting with Fletcher and 1 pt for starting with Bera. Bera did look in shape though so kudos to him, but he desperately needs loaning out and getting a couple of months of game time. On the whole we battled as well as we have done for some time and on another day may have snatched a win - in short we actually competed in a game of football - how many times have we been able to say that in 2018 - so a big fat 6 from me

Saw Stephen Warnock on Sky the other day saying it's "disappointing" to hear Rowett say he wants more players given the money spent and players already at the club, but was evident today why you want to recruit a bit more.
Midfield in particular you looked pedestrian, although Pearson bossed it. That back line will struggle against a lot of pacey sides at this level as well IMO.

3 a generous one Fletcher needs to be dropped We need a defensive midfielder like a donkey needs oxygen (preferably one over 6 feet tall ) We need wingers with pace who will cover our fullbacks as they got dragged inside all match. And we need to (still) work on set pieces !!! On a positive note I think our strikers will be ok if they are given a bit more service than a guest at a one star Beirut hotel !!

5.
Glad we tried two up top, glad Bauer was dropped.
Mclean needed dropping - Fletcher needed dropping and subbing for Etebo not Afobe!
He mixed it up today and I'm glad he tried to change things, of which he must change more.
