Buying a player whose name is an anagram of "sunk end" doesn't bode well with me.

Why are are we interested in a player who the last manager wanted?
Surely this poses serious questions as to who actually buys players at the club,
So if the obvious is true then i think nothing will change at the club until the current transfer team is overhauled
Forget NJ even Pep Guardiola would struggle under the current regime
Scholes and Cartwright get out of our club

There's nothing wrong with having a transfer team to identify targets, it's when the manager is forced to sign / play that player, or isnt allowed to make his own signings then there's a problem.

I agree. Not going for a player simply because a previous manager wanted him is daft. If NJ wants him we should try to get him (and given his contract situation he won't cost a big transfer fee) and if NJ doesn't want him we should move on. Certainly we do need a pacy left back/wing back this window as well as a young centre back with pace.

He signed 2 days after Hughes was sacked so you'd of thought that deal was already progressing at that point. As for N'Diaye, he was signed 2 weeks after Lambert's appointment.

Bet he was a 'club signing' though whatever that is, Lambert was just a gofer, no way we were spending on his say so

Its possible - now everyone scouts the top couple of leagues in Europe though.... so perhaps 100-150 clubs - its just that the odds are over 100-1. Decision driven by the idea - Knudsen is worth 2-4m, of international standing (so appeals to a big market) we buy him for norhing, hey presto, we have an asset we can cash in in future for a few million. Same recipe as we so successfully employed with Diouf and ECM. If at first you don't succeed....

I find it difficult to accept that a manager as determined and forceful as Nathan Jones would accept players he did not want.
I feel sure he will bring in players he wants and will wait to get the right ones.

I'm pretty sure that he eluded to the fact that the scouting team will offer players to him, he said something about a kangaroo that can jump 20ft and punch meaning that if they didn't for-fill his criteria of everything he wants in a player he wouldn't sign them.
