www.twtd.co.uk/ipswich-town-news/34124/Boss Paul Hurst has confirmed Martyn Waghorn’s Town departure is edging closer as are some of his moves to bring players in, but poured cold water on reports that Jonas Knudsen is set to join Stoke and says he’ll look at the situation with Bolton target Joe Garner.
Hurst says no significance should be drawn from Knudsen’s post match applause towards the fans in several stands on his way off.
“I don’t know that that’s not unusual or any different from what he would normally do,” he said.
“What I would say is to my knowledge that’s not going to be happening. Every time I’ve watched Jonas in the past and speaking to people about him and seeing him first-hand now, he’s a fully committed player and I certainly didn’t see anything in his performance today that would suggest he’s got something else on his mind.
“If there is then credit to him for his performance today. But, no, I went and clapped the fans and I’m not planning on leaving. Hopefully it’s just a similar situation to my own.”

That sounds like he could well be leaving to me, seems to ramble on without ever saying "He's not for sale"

If he does come then it at least shows he's a "good egg" by playing today, I suppose. It shouldn't be something that a player should be rewarded for but in the modern game you see a lot of players who kick a fuss up and don't play.

Wonder if we had any representatives at the game? Yes we did, Papa John's in Ipswich had a 2-4-1 offer on.

So we can't do the big money deals e.g Richie and it seems we can't even do the unknown left back from the tractor boys for around 1.4mill
We go in at 750k knowing we have our first choice left back injured!. What is going on!!?

I don't think there's any question about his attitude, all the reports I've read seem to say the same thing.

If we want him we'll offer what they want.
If he doesn't mind sitting on our bench then he'll be here.

What is going on!!? Have we not signed any big deal this window then? Also are you saying we shouldn’t negotiate on deals and instead just go straight in with what they’re asking?

I am saying we have an injured left back, we have no cover that can play at this level, we know this chap is worth circa 1.5M but we bid 750k So if we want someone and we want to deal quickly, surely you start at around 1.1m looking to strike terms at about 1.3?, Bidding what we have just gets flatly refused, there is no negotiation and allows the selling party to play hardball and hold out for more. As for not doing big deals, we have signed one of our plan a targets, Afobe, the others are plan b and plan c for which we have over paid!!

Pieters finished last season like a man possessed, he was far and away or best player for the last half dozen games - he'll storm this league as the best LB easily... You must have forgotten what Pieters was like in the first 30 games, and the year before. He'll cost us dearly.
He doesn't need back up, he needs replacing. Told you so!

Don't care if he joins or not
GR has got to rip into this lot and get far more pace ( speed we move the ball ) graft ( pressing) and intensity out of them , or we are going down
All the time our attitude is wrong , we will sink and sink some more
Regardless of whether we sign players or not

He really does seem to revel in making Scholes life difficult doesn't he - not that he needs much help to make our transfers a disaster!

Maybe he's showing in interest so he lulls Scholes into signing yet another shit player?

So we’re making a meal of signing the cheapo left back.
Excellent.

So we’re making a meal of signing the cheapo left back. Excellent. Its genuinely becoming farcical - we seem unable to deliver on any of the managers requests Davies - No Gayle - No Richie - No Chester - No Knudsen - No

It's getting way beyond farcical now - this has been a seemingly deliberate ploy by Teflon and Hoss for the past few weeks to ensure that we sign nobody permanently during the remainder of this window. It's as though they have been given instructions from Coates to only go for loans (if absolutely necessary), and to delay, obstruct, or deliberately mess up any other possible deals.
Do they want to push Rowett so far that he'll think stuff it and walk away ? Or is it , as we all seem to think, that Teflon and Hoss are just so utterly incompetent that they are completely incapable of getting these deals over the line ?

I’ve tried to be as even handed as possible over this shit shower. But unless tomorrow is spectacular then I’m moving over to the dark side. Something stinks about what’s been going on.

Now, now, don't be hasty ! After all don't forget Coates statement after relegation, "lessons have been learned", "nothing wrong with the process", "do everything possible for a promotion challenge". Complete and utter bullshit !
