We struggled last season and this seems to still be a BIG problem, on the other hand we keep on conceding! Maybe not a team for straight promotion after all!

As others have said
We don't score We can't defend
Barring a couple of unseen fantastic signings in the transfer market
This is not going to end well

Why don't we ( many other teams also ) play 2 upfront anymore ?

The low point for me
McLean went to play a one - two with berahino And as McLean sped down the wing , racing into space Berahino knocked the ball back about 30 yards to BMI !!
Why ??
Nobody will ever know ???

we need someone to create chances.. Ince will do .. on the evidence of today MacLean will. we need a number 10. someone to link up the play through the middle , to drop deep and provide some magic and creativity. Afobe will convert chances.. and im convinced Berahinho will. supply and the goals will come

My patience will quickly run our with Rowett if he persists with Fletcher, Diouf and Adam when he's 38m down the line.
Just got to hope that the new staff gets the movement drilled into them so we can score goals and don't stand on the fucking spot like for that second goal we conceded.

We need to have it right before then. Get it wrong for a month and we are not going up. It's not the Prem where we could bugger about for the first six weeks of the season because we were only aiming for mid table. For promotion it needs to be right from the very start. It isn't, as things stand, and we have a week.

Perhaps if we as SUPPORTERS supported the team as a whole not sections of the team while abusing others who for whatever reason are not accepted (Diouf, Pieters ,Berahino Imbula,or whoever is this weeks scapegoat then perhaps they would play without fear. How many posters on here have been in a work situation when they knew one mistake and the manager would be on their back ? did that make your more or less relaxed as you went about your work, get behind each and every player who pulls on the shirt ( if you like them or not)if the support is not united how do you expect the team to play as a unit without fear ? their job is to play, our job is to SUPPORT we have the nucleus of a promotion team and wonderful support lets both sings from the same hymn sheet for once

Week after week we were told to "get behind them". We did, and most of them still gave not one shit.

I really hope they've just coasted along and that to say was first gear. Defend like we did for the second and it's going to be a long season

Why don't we ( many other teams also ) play 2 upfront anymore ? Because we don't have 2 competent strikers. If we had enough good quality strikers, I'd even consider going three up front, at least at home.

Would having Afobe instead of Saido made a difference today?

Just got to hope that the new staff gets the movement drilled into them so we can score goals and don't stand on the fucking spot like for that second goal we conceded. Part of the very real problem, though, is that we still lack depth. Afobe wasn't involved today, so we're back to the same three poor striking options that we had last season. Badou and Bojan were both absent, so you either one out of Adam/Fletcher/Cameron has to start alongside Allen and Etebo (presuming that Imbula will be on his way if we can find a club who will take him). Pieters was missing so we had a straight choice between using a promising but right-sided player, or Tymon who nobody seems to rate at all. It's a 46-game season. Some of our best players will naturally get injured, suspended or rested at various points of the season. If we don't invest in depth, and soon, we're going to be stuck with the same old players who got us relegated to begin with. And I daresay that it isn't Rowett's fault if the transfer team don't deliver.

Would help if we had a striker to finish chances off. We'll create more under Rowett, but apart from Afobe we have nobody.
Diouf is embarrassing. Lost his legs, which is all he ever had.

You have to get the ball and players into the penalty area at the same time, something we are palpably failing to do.

Nobody will ever know ??? We have as a team for a long time been far too ponderous on the break allow the opponents to set their defence,it is much easier to defend with your back to your goal, take them on try to go past players, not pass your way around them we are too predictable .

Afobe favourite to be top scorer. Absolutely no chance. He'll struggle in this team.
