After the Leeds game I believed we had an outside chance of making the play offs
Had we lost 2-0 v Leeds and had a Great performance and win yesterday then things would seem more positive this morning
Sad to say it’s probably better that we have a top 10 finish but just miss the playoffs as we’re not ready for a return to the top flight now

Just found my original post in July - I thought at the time, "am i being too pessimisitc here?" 9th-13th Expect a bad start before stability and hopes of the playoff, before tailing off again at the end. For me we needed an overhaul, but for that needed to start from 5th May on. Ship out the old guard, raise funds and rebuild with a younger team that had several of the best of the Championship Too many players, who bombed, are being polished to go again. (Beharinho should have been moved-on, excluded or shot. Every attempt made to shift Adam, Fletcher, Diouf, Imbula, Bojan + Ireland, Johnson etc Young players loaned. Mistakes not addressed, notably not buying players early enough. (The stats on this, to me, are compelling on the volume and speed that recently promoted teams have generally recruited at: 8 new faces and 80% of business done by now) Set against this, Rowett will be too organised to have us in trouble We have more quality than most (though we won't be automatically be a better team just because they don't have household names), but the team will take time to gel as the new team will need to learn on the job Rowett haa gone mate! He's repeating what he said in July. Not far wrong was he. |

I think our hopes of top half are fading rapidly, 15/16th is probably realistic now 10th at best. I have no confidence this group of players can put a run together, Jones needs to make wholesale changes in the summer - but will he be allowed to do it? and one summer window won't be enough, it really needs to start with a few transfers this window.

We could well flirt with relegation as our up coming fixtures look a little scary. I do not fancy us against anyone at the moment after yesterdays total surrender against a Preston side who started this season struggling to get a win.
Jones needs time & a mass clear out with full backing from above whether he gets it or not is a another matter.

Somewhere between 10th and 16th. Not good enough, another top to bottom review required in the summer and this time the right choices have to be made for the long term good of the club.
Nathan has to be backed and allowed to do things his way not having his hands tied by the process.

Fuck me yous are miserable. Definitely winning this league with our team... Butland, BMI, Shawcross, Allen, Etebo, Bauer, Pieters are all top league players. Oh dear. We had so much optimism in July last year didn’t we! |

Two of my mates text me before the first match against Leeds to say what a ridiculous (in a good way) team that was to put out in Championship and we'd walk it. This is how we lined up that:
Butland
Bauer Shawcross Indi Pieters
Allen N'Diaye Etebo
Ince Afobe McClean
They are Man City and Arsenal fans so don't have much of a clue about the Championship but it is baffling to look back and how its panned out. They should be doing better. I get the Championship is different but they really just aren't performing. You can make all the excuses you like but the end of the day our players just haven't turned up at all. They cannot be THIS bad.

I said 52 points in August and I think that’s spot on ., that’ll be two years running spot on , so fee for next year’s forecast will be rising and no early bird offers , I want to see just how bad a window Scholes and come can put together , the last two have been unimaginably bad but I think they can go Lower if allowed to do so .
