It is a bit early...plenty of transfer business will take place before the start of the season changing the potential of sides around us. But at the moment and based on our transfer targets I am praying we can somehow sneak into the final play off place to give us a chance. So maybe 6th or 7th

10th to 14th. Seriously underwhelmed so far. Rowett should keeps us up in mid table rather than flirting with relegation but gee this fresh new start and lessons learned really was a load of bull@@@@.
same failing squad with bugger all investment 2 weeks before the season starts...

Top 2 with many in the league complaining about having the dong slapped across their kisser.

8th after flirting with a play off place for most of the season. Some good teams in the championship its not going to be easy.

We should really have a squad able to compete for the top 2 places, but I think a lot of our players will be surprised by the standard of this league so I'll say play off as well.

We'll see another 2-3 come in, and seems almost certain Butland will stay. I normally try and play it cool - but objectively it's very, very hard not to see us finishing top 6. www.oddschecker.com/football/english/championship/winnerNot sure we should be quite so short favourites for the title, but don't think many clubs at all would swap squads at this stage.

Really depends on attitude, why do so many championship sides do well against premiership teams, they are “up” for it and Prem teams are thinking “easy day against a lower team”, this is the managers job (Coventry ..) in GR I have faith, .... Championship winners come next May...

These are the threads that will be bumped up next May, so be careful But I've got a feeling we'll see Stoke and Middlesbrough as the top 2

With a decent CDM, ano striker and both wingers sorted (&, arguably a LB / RWB comparable to our RB / RWB), and of course, our share of Lady Luck's blessing in terms of injuries, cards, decisions etc, we should be top two.
If we started today however ... 6th - 8th.
(I'm assuming Jack stays in either case, so our defence should be fine but without more incoming attacking / creative players, I just can't see us scoring enough.)

If I can't dream of being champions this August I can never dream of being champions. Ive missed this feeling. The blind optimism of early August is part of what makes football worth it and part of what makes the prem so unfulfilling.

An injury to Afobe, and we'll have one very obvious problem.
I'll reserve the serious predictions til the window shuts.

I get people are still on a downer after relegation but we have the strongest 11 and strongest squad in the league.
a manager who consistently performs well at this level.
we should have some optimism here...
for me I think we will be 1st and not too dissimilar to when newcastle last went up.
