I hear you ask? Why another thread about a player that left a long time ago etc....
But after leaving to play champions league and now win the World Cup with France playing his part in the final, I can’t but feel he must be a broken man. Yes he’s smiling and joining in with his team celebrating lifting that gold shiny thing, but come on right? You can see it in his eyes, he’s missing his Oatcakes and nights down Hanley duck especially with a bit of Championship filth to get him going. ST1 with their discount beer, the brilliant 101 bus that can take you to Stafford and so on.
Well done mate and I’m sorry you can’t come back ‘because it would be a bit of a strange decision’ according to some knobbers at FIFA etc etc. We will say a little prayer for you if we ever bother going to church, or maybe down Spoons up Hanley duck.

So happy for him!
It's pretty much worked out spot on for him and he deserves that.
He deserves to be a world champion because he's an absolutely class player.
Well done Steve!

Pleased for N'Zonzi.
Can't believe the truly awful Giroud has won a world cup medal.

Won the Europa League as well against the bin dippers don't forget, top man. He could play for any team in the world, just hope it's not Arsenal, they don't deserve a player with such class.

Without that 6 yard sideways pass straight back to player who kicked it to him, France may never have scored that 4th goal...

Top drawer footballer.
I don't think I'll ever see a midfielder play as well for Stoke as he did in his last 18 months here.
It's a rarity that a midtable premier club can have a midfielder who can completely control a premier league game (even against the big teams) but we certainly had one with N'zonzi.

The sad thing is, there will be some stubborn folk who will still stick with the "sideways" "slowed down play" "overrated" "not that good" bollocks. Fact is, 1 of the best players I have seen for Stoke. Fact is the best midfielder I have seen for Stoke. Just a class player that we simply never replaced. Well done Steven, massive congrats from me

Even someone like Nzonzi couldn’t be universally appreciated during his time at Stoke.
We’ll struggle see a player playing for stoke with as much class on the ball as him for a long time.

His performance against Liverpool remains one of the best midfield performances I've ever seen from a Stoke player.

Sold for £7m. Mark Hughes. Eye of a dead fish when it comes to a player He. Had. No. Intention. Of. Staying. Beyond. His. Contract. Bit harsh to extrapolate that. I mean he only slapped in a transfer request every summer, refused contract talks and took a paycut at his new club.

This isn’t about if he’s good or not, or if we sold him on the cheap etc etc. If you think it is, you need to take a good hard look at yourself in a dark room, which I tell you is dam difficult!!
This is about some poor twenty something lad who will never get to truly enjoy a proper Oatcake. You can’t find that in the middle of Seville etc. He will look at his Europa league winners medal and his World Cup medal and think, ‘This is not me dam it, I want a Championship winnners medal’. There’s no way back to the crown jewel of the A34 now I tell ya. There’s something empty and hollow about the world he lives in now. Bojan managed to get out of that world somehow, the beautiful little bar-steward, but you’ve got to worry for the future of N’Zonzi.

He was with us for 3 seasons. Won player of the season once.
Let's not rewrite history and make out he was some kind of god.
He was decent for two thirds of his time here. No more, no less.

Fantastic player, easily the best centre midfielder we've had in my life time. His physicality and technique were second to none and is the reason he's played several times for the world champions.
Ultimately his decision to leave when he did has been justified and as a club we should be celebrating this and promoting it to future signings.
Best memory is him juggling the ball over Toure, the best midfielder in the league at the time, three times!
