Lose 7 to keep 18? Finish higher in league to gain more prize money? It would ha e been a better decision. Glad you see it makes sense. How would we have kept 18, he would still need replacing, and we'd be 7 mil lighter because he goes for nothing, saying we'd finish higher is guess work. There's sticks to beat the club with if you must but this isn't one of them. Just making the point that a season extra of NZonzi would have been better than the nightmare we've had with Imbula. But we didn't do it.

...and the club would’ve got slagged off for letting him go for free.

Would it though, he didn't want to be here, knew he'd be gone, do you think he'd try his hardest, if he was to stay, the way we seemed to rate Imbula he'd have probably turned up eventually anyway and we'd be even more worse off without the N'Zonzi cash, it was the right thing to do, you still have to think about the running of the club and how it generates money. I get why people would wan't him to stay though, he was fantastic for us, I just don't think it would have been wise to turn down the money for him.

But we didn't do it. We didn't have a nightmare in Imbula's first season - where you'd have kept Nzonzi - in fact, a number of people thought we'd bought a modern day version of Hudson. That we didn't, and then it became nightmarish, though I think with the right kind of backing he could still become someone here.

This board is an incredible place at times. We have posters who think Pogba is absolutely terrible, and people lauding over N'zonzi for winning a World Cup. Pogba - 539 minutes played Nzonzi - 141 minutes played Pogba was uninspirational at times. As for Nzonzi the 90 minutes he played vs Denmark in the single most boring game in this world cup don't count in his favour either. But the 35 minutes he was on in the final changed the game. It was 2-1 when he came on, but both France's goals were extremely lucky. Croatia had momentum, and would have scored more with or without the help of Loris. But when Nzonzi walked on, the momentum changed, this big guy just walked in and demanded the ball in a way that neither Pogba nor Kante had. I will admit I was very surprised when Nzonzi's number came up, I thought it was very strange that out of all the talent on the French bench Deschamps would choose Steven for some courtesy minutes in the final, especially as his international experience was limited. But it was a brilliant choice by the manager as we were to see before our disbelieving eyes. And if you can't see that you need to watch the game again!

Roma are getting a fantastic player but 35 million for a lad that turns 30 this year is a bit mental. I suppose that's the way modern football works now. Oh what I'd give to have him back here..

He's still mostly a Stoke City player if he leaves for Roma today!
Years Team Apps (Gls) 2007–2009 Amiens 37 (1) 2009–2012 Blackburn 86 (5) 2012–2015 Stoke City 109 (6) 2015– Sevilla 90 (6)

Bit different from his arrival at Stoke Pah! Nowt beats driving down to CW at 10pm on deadline night, through a sea of Bargain Booze cans and Riverside Chippy papers, serenaded in through the gates to the dulcet tones of SSN bulls***

And for the 4847584848th time i cant stand N'Zonzi and glad he left us. Never liked him when he was here. He was a fucking crab who only ever went sideways. He broke down every attack we had by slowing everything down when he had the ball. And has everyone forgot the way he treated the club when he wanted out? Most overrated player we've had. Good riddance N'Zonzi. Hope we never see him round Stoke again.

Do you reckon they start an N'Zonzi thread every other month on the Blackburn forum?... good luck to him anyway, deserves it.

Really can't believe how many people wish someone well who raised hands to a woman, to a woman he's supposed to love, no less.
Suppose that says something about the standard of human being on here.

They will sell him with a profit next year with massive add ons (we of course get nothing), when Steven hands in his annual transfer request. Barca wanted him this year and may come back for him, Mourinho will want him for next club, and Ronaldo will want him to service him at Juve.

He was cleared of this. Also Mrs Nzonzi might of been being a prick and not showing lord Steven enough respect. Who knows? Hands down the most consistently excellent player I've watched at Stoke. Miss him every day. We will never replace him.
