Looks like it could possibly be Ojo instead of Wilson, shame if so as Wilson is definitely the better of the two. You’d like to think it’ll be either another PL team or he’ll be staying. If they loan him to another Championship team I’d be seriously pissed off. That said Ojo is decent and will be a good loan. From Liverpool's point of view, though, if he's one of their better prospects, they're going to want him at a club where he's going to get 30+ starts, aren't they? If the plan is to bring in Ritchie and McClean, that's not going to happen here, is it? If Swansea or Derby are offering him the chance to go straight into the XI, they're probably going to favour that.

I think if we got promoted we've an outside chance of signing Ojo permanently if he's any good whereas I think Wilson would be impossible.

just asked a friend who is a wolves season ticket holder if Ojo is any good and his response was `no better than what you've already got` - take from that what you will !

There is just so much wriggle room available surely. (I guess where any £ penalties come in.)
That said, if we miss Wilson because we are still dead set on JMcC (as looks / sounds likely), then that is deeply disappointing.

We don't have any wingers really...Choupo (not strictly a winger) and Verlinden, not strictly a realistic option. Ojo was at Wolves a while ago though. Don't you have a Fulham mate?

Ojo seems to be further down the line development wise. It certainly seems as though general opinion has Wilson as the better player but its worth pointing out that Ojo has 50 career games to his name now, over spells at 3 different championship clubs whilst Wilson has 22 for 2 clubs, 7 of those for Crewe in league one, both are 21. There are a lot of reasons this maybe the case but i think that might indicate Ojo being a bit more Championship ready? Ojo also played 8 times for Liverpool to Wilsons 0. His first premier league start for Liverpool was against us.

Common sense makes me think , if Butland stays, then it Wilson, Ojo and a left back/ CB on loan. Huth in if his ankle stays well during pre season. Badou in or out. Should Butland go to Chelsea. Then vydra,Ritchie etc. We have no width at all we need 3 wide men for me. This is the best chance we have of going up. We can’t gamble on having no depth.

Ojo looks the more likely I have just been told but Wilson IS our first choice from there. Could be anyone from there or nobody at all really couldn't it

Hardball in the fact that we want a player on loan and the player we want is Wilson, we have been offered another player but we want Wilson and they know that. The release clause should never have come out apparently but by all accounts his brother leaked it to the press. As I posted on the Shaq thread (Including a lawyers link) the £13m will only be part of the whole clause. I'm sure his agent/brother decided not to leak any non favourable details of the clause just the headline break amount. In fact even the act of leaking it to the press probably breaks the NDA. If the clause is structured as a "good faith" clause (legalese) we do have some wriggle room. Payment conditions, release constraints will not simply be over £13m it's not legally enforceable. Neither of the three parties will want to go to the CAS to arbitrate. I'd bet a pound to a penny the final amount will be declared undisclosed. The non disclosure suits all parties. What was your post on the other thread mate I’m intrigued. It was regarding the legal details of release clauses. How they haven't been tested legally because they are so new. But how they always should contain other elements to get them to stand up. FFP has an impact too I guess next year's accounts will shed a little light on things. I'm sure we didn't get too much more but I bet it wasn't as low as what has been doing the rounds. Stoke will be reasonably happy. When Ritchie joins in the next week or so we'll start looking top dogs on the pitch in this league. By my reckoning we'd still be £7m up even after Richie.

McClean/Choupo on the left Ritchie/Ojo on the right
.. I'll settle for it, just. I'm not Choupo's greatest fan at all but I'm willing to give him another go and hope he performs. IF, he gets his arse in gear and uses his physical attributes unlike last season then he's got more about him than McClean.

Derby played Fulham 4 tines last season and he played the grand total of 3 minutes against them😄so Rowett must have watched him in his viewing of opponents

Spoke to a Liverpool season ticket holder at work about the Shaq deal.
Suggested we might be getting Ojo. His response: "Decent, he's quick and just whips the ball across so might be alright in the championship."
Mentioned Harry Wilson, to which he replied "No chance, surely? He's class."

Just having a look what Fulham made of Ojo www.friendsoffulham.com/forum/index.php?topic=64136.msg941785#msg941785Seemed they recognised his skill, talent and potential - and if anything there was slighty more warmth than coolness - but other players, like Piazon, were often suggseted as better options. Comments... +s "fast", "luxury player", "nothing wrong with him", "skinned their player with ease", "oozes confidence and skill", " a good lad... nice person, English, Christian", -s "looks a bit lethargic", "slows up play", "needs to realise he's part of a team", "not the finished article", "lots of development still needed"

I guess they could have been talking about young 9 in 10 young wingers though couldn't they? That's the nature of the beast!. I guess, if he arrives, being fair to the lad, I don't think we should expect a Championship Salah!
