They have to beat Colombia and either Sweden or Switzerland before facing either Spain or Croatia in the semi-finals. Very achievable. They have avoided facing Brazil/Mexico and then either Uruguay, Portugal, France or Argentina in the semis. No easy day going forward but I like their chances. Going to Saint Footie and burning a few candles to get an England-Belgium Final.

No England reached the last 16. Colombia will be as dangerous as anyone. There are no easier routes.

I am hoping we can do it but expect an SF or final defeat which is better than we all expected and would be in our top 3 World cup performances.

No we need to learn how to defend first because in all 3 games we've looked poor at the back and any time the keeper has been tested hes looked woeful.

I'm betting on Columbia to beat England
Columbia have more nouse, intelligence and experience than England and are physically stronger.
England look like a bunch of schoolboys to me running around like headless chickens, which apart from Kane they essentially are.
Columbia will have to play worse than they did in the first half against Senegal which will take some doing. Second half they showed they know how to win important matches.
Falcao will be rubbing his hands

The World Cup journey ends as soon as we play a half decent team or even sooner. We are too slow and boring unless we fluke it. The recent years of watching boring Stoke has prepared me well!

Nice to see expectation has dropped to the more usual levels for England. Last night was a reminder of what we usually produce on the world stage.
When I take my false teeth out I still have more bite than what the England attack did last night. When you play against a team who can't hurt you then you relax, play with confidence and push up and attack yourself.
It showed just how important Harry Kane is too us, not just a goal scorer but the "threat" that keeps the opposition playing deeper. The rest of our strikers are just there for a jolly up.
I think we will beat Colombia, not easily and not without a cock up from Pickford, who looks nervous to me. So 2-1 to England with Kane scoring the dive penalty won by Sterling who will instantly hailed the greatest player since Pele.

Columbia's pace will cause our back 3 problems, it would not surprise me if we are on the plane home after the next match.

The media who criticise him for eating breakfast and buying his mum a sink?

I don't know what will happen when our best players meet the best players of a really good team. You cannot really draw any conclusions thus far.
So far England (world ranked 12) have scraped a win against Tunisia (world ranked 21), thumped Panama (world ranked 55) and our second string lost to the second string of Belgium (World ranked 3) - probably much as expected. If the form guide follows, we will beat Columbia (World ranked 16) and lose to Switzerland (World ranked 6) in the Quarter finals.
Having said that, the performance of Germany (World ranked 1) does tend to piss all over that hypothesis.
I'll take a leap of faith and say that we will make it to the semi final and get knocked out by Spain. Followed by us losing the 3rd/4th game to Portugal. It will be a Brazil v Spain final.

Have to agree, media hammering him for being poor but you can see the lad is so low of confidence it’s scary, of which you have to blame the media. They e had their scapegoat ready since the squad was announced. Wonder if it’s anything to do with him supposedly shitting on Media darings Liverpool a few years back

If we get to the Semi's I think I'd rather play Spain than Croatia. Spain seem a bit slow and we have the ability and pace to cause them problems on the break.
