If ever there was a doubt, what a reminder of what a very special player Shaq is.
Lots of big names have come to this WC, but not managed to show their skills or flair against welll organised systems.
Thought Shaq was absolutely terrific. Relentlessly clever and inventive. Lovely goal. Wonderful footballer.
Mixed feelings tonight. Part sad.

He may not have contributed the most of any Stoke City player in the modern era but he may well be the very best. We may never see his like again in the red and white stripes

He is nowhere near the best in my opinion. I am very much in the Gary Neville & Mike Pejic camp when it comes to Shaq. I bear him no ill will and hope he thrives in a better team with better individuals but I don't think we will miss him.

Did your hear his interview? He was asked about moving and he said he hopes to pen a new deal at Stoke and help to fire them back up! 😀 It's not beyond the realms of possibility. Shaq signs a new deal and immediately gets paid a million for putting pen to paper. We tear up the release clause and get to ask 20MM+ for Shaq. He leaves at the end of August or in the Jan window. Highly risky for Shaq mind when he can leave essentially for free and command a 1MM+ signing on fee anyway plus an increase in wages (presumably).

He might be motivated to play against Serbia but how motvated would he be in the Championship? Not at all I suspect!

Maybe Stoke 18/19 will be a better team with more pace than Stoke 17/18. Thought the whole Swiss team were good. I think you're right! Our only chance would be if we kept him a while on his salary today and were winning plenty of games at the start of the season. Microscope.

Or it stays as is, clubs put in offers equal to his release clause and then he gets even more when the wages war starts, it's not in his interest to sign a new deal.

He isn't staying. Let's just hope he scores a couple more, we get a few quid for him and he doesnt go to a team we hate.

He could score 20 more goals but his price won’t alter mate The RELGATION clause has set it at a fixed price .....I put it in capitals as there’s still many on here who can’t grasp it

I thought someone could outbid a minimum bid.

When you think about it, it could work as a good deal for both parties. We say to Shaq - remove your release clause and any bid over 12m we split the additional amount 50:50 with you?
