Do we trust the Tony Pulis DNA test?, We need a Pulis type player don’t we? We need the right players. If we can find a young Arnautovic-type player I'd be just as happy. Need a mixture of flair and solid.

I'd be pretty happy with this at the right price. Good age, showed glimpses to be PL quality covers lots of positions and would be a good option in a midfield three. Up to £7m including the add ons and we should deal.

We're not trying to be "cute" again are we ? Our actions this summer has shown we’re past all that. Maybe we’re just being sensible? How do we know Sunderland aren’t quoting us a stupid amount

How do we know Sunderland aren’t quoting us a stupid amount Equally, we could have offered cash and a player we'd like to offload, while Sunderland just want the money or a different player in exchange. "Unacceptable" doesn't have to mean we've offered them half of what Boro have.

As long as we don’t sign Cattermole. Anyway, he could help James McLean settle in😉

Hmm, going head to head with TP for a defender... I’m sure we’ve been here before 🤔 (and that turned out to be the worst £18m ever spent)

I'd be happy with this, not seen much of him since he left Man U but he was highly rated and looked solid when I saw him play a few times, also has ability to play in a couple different positions so may come in useful over a long season with injuries etc

McNair would be a good signing, I reckon. If we're planning on mostly playing a 4-2-3-1 with Etebo and Allen as the central midfield two, we would need reliable backup. McNair would fit that bill.
If you look at our other midfield options at the moment, it's Adam, Fletcher and Cameron. None of them have any legs and I would hope that one or two could get moved on at this stage. McNair would come in on lower wages than them (I presume), he'd lower the age of the squad, and he offers a bit of versatility.
Would be an astute acquisition; not all of our signings need to be big names or exciting prospects, young and reliable squad players would be great.

Just the type of player we need.
Becoming pretty obvious Rowett is looking to ship out a whole host of last season's crock of shit and get in exactly what we need.
If he signs. It's certainly a big SEE THEE! to Adam, Cameron, and Fletcher.
Young lad Sorensen as backup as well.

Surely they're too small to be a partnership, one would be advanced, probably Allen and the other would partner McNair?

Stoke “expected” to match boros bid.
Suggest to me Blunderlan have told us what they want and it’s up about o ya to match it or walk away.
Not fussed either way tbf. The way we seem to be going about this window suggests we’ll have feelers out for other Options.
