Now not expected to go ahead as planned as the company that supply and fit has ceased trading on sl&p.

Yep, the company who provided the seating previously was Stechert. A story from 25 May 2018 basically says they've recently suffered bankruptcy and are currently looking for buyers.

Yet another example of Stoke City carrying out due diligence before placing an order with a company.
Obviously went to the cheapest "mickey mouse" company last year.
Is it surprising after the Imbula, Berahino, Wimmer, Brek Shea, etc., etc. debacles. You really couldn't make it up. How does the CEO keep his job? Maybe he will get a knighthood next?

Well if Stoke have anything do with it, we'll buy the company for 150 quid, to be paid over 4 years, then install all the seats sitting in their wearhouse for fuck all.

I'm surprised the new seats that have been put in are actually facing the right way.

Can't speak for the deal but I find the new seats extremely uncomfortable. There is little leg room for a kick off! Those they replaced were pretty decent I thought and very comfortable.

It’s just another stick to beat our club with, which some delight at doing 🙄 It is, see above. I hate criticizing the club I have supported for over half a century and have defended them often including the managers. But there is clearly major deficiencies in how the business is being managed, including checking how money is being spent, most notably on players with a poor attitude, but many other aspects such as IT. Suppliers do go bust, it happens, but you have to question going to a supplier, who you fully intent to give a repeat order to 12 months later, who becomes insolvent in the mean time.

We've been using them since 2013, they've basically supplied every bit of seating in the stadium including hospitality. You can't blame Stoke for this.

That's fair enough then you might think, and that was my first reaction to your post. But wait a minute I have done some research myself and I find the company was in financial trouble last year: translate.google.co.uk/translate?hl=en&sl=de&u=http://www.nordbayern.de/region/fuerth/nach-insolvenz-stechert-immobilien-suchen-kaufer-1.7630173&prev=searchFolding seat disaster: Stechert in Wilhermsdorf is broke
150 employees are unemployed on Monday - SpVgg loses a major sponsor - 06.10.2017 20:35 clock
WILHERMSDORF / FÜRTH - The Stechert-Stahlrohrmöbel GmbH headquartered in Wilhermsdorf is broke. The company, which has equipped stadiums around the world with its folding seats, recently had to file for bankruptcy. The same applies to SpVgg Greuther Fürth.
Since this situation became public October last year, when we were still very much a Prem team, why weren't steps made by Stoke to make enquiries for another supplier? Maybe they did but decided they weren't going to replace the seats anyway, when they got prices. We only find out when concerned fans, some I guess who have long had season tickets start to make enquiries on 3rd June OP. The the excuse, and it is an excuse, is the company has gone bust, so we are unable to proceed. Such a great pity no one acted last October or at least made an announcement at some point in time. At the risk of being an old bore, the failure to replace the seats is a failure on the part of the club administration.

Or maybe they approached a new supplier on hearing about the financial difficulties of said company but due to manufacturing lead times the seats won't be available until after the season starts meaning the plan is on hold until the 2019/20 season? In short none of us have a scooby doo, but let's moan about it anyway.....

If the club have lost money then the due diligence thing becomes an issue (for the club anyway). If they haven't, then I'm not sure what the problem is, unless some people are naffed off with sitting on slightly faded red seats.
