Why are people mithering about new seats in the big stand. They are all covered with tartan travel blankets most of the time. What they really need is shelves fitted to the back of the seats to rest hip flasks and packets of Waitrose prawn sandwiches on. Can you put your improvement suggestions to the Supporters Council?

Not having the requisite insurance is certainly messing with something. H I thought that had recently been turned into a myth, and it was the banks that were calling in the loans the reason we had to sell players. Possibly Northy, always something I thought happened but happy to hear different theories. H

Stoke were actually proactive in getting somebdoy in the day before the storm who said the roof 'was sound' I think the fault was agreeing a price with the insurers before the works were quoted/completed

That would be great but we have to keep our hip flasks hidden, rendering a shelf superfluous. What we (I) really want is escalators to replace all those bloody stairs.

Seats are going ahead but there is an issue with the power supply, apparently there is going to be timers fitted so there’s no pre heating of the seats going to be available....typical penny pinching again...thanks stoke 😡

I’d rather the club save money then paying an energy bill to warm up a seat. Everyone in the 3 other stands don’t have heated seats.... if it’s that cold wear thermals & man up!!?

According to the official site there’s 7,357 seats in the upper and lower tiers of the main stand so I’d imagine it’d take a lot longer than a week to rip them all out and replace them.

So just under 23,000 were replaced/added last season then. 10 days/2 weeks maybe? No. 5000 we’re done Summer 2016 (see below) And the rest were done last Summer. So it took them roughly 3 weeks to do 5000 seats and if I remember rightly about 6/7 weeks to do the rest last Summer. So going on that timescale I’m sure it would take at least 4/5 weeks to replace 7000 odd seats. Still time obviously though. As long as they get a move on. ALMOST 5,000 seats will be replaced by the time Stoke City play host to the first home game of the 2016/17 season at the bet365 Stadium. The ambitious project is being undertaken as part of the stadium naming rights agreement that officially takes affect from Wednesday 1st June. Blocks 29 to 32 in the dpd Stand will be replaced in their entirety, along with seats closest to the centre in Blocks 28 and 33, as the 'Britannia' spelt out in white is replaced by 'bet365' wording. Work to remove the current seats has begun in a phase that is expected to last around three weeks. New improved seats will begin to be installed in July and are being supplied by Stechert, the company who designed and installed the dug-out seating area last summer. Stechert have provided stadium seating across the globe, supplying seats to stadia used for World Cups - including Germany, South Africa and Brazil - as well as many of the clubs in the Bundesliga. The project to replace the stadium seating is part of a wider refurbishment programme which will see the remainder of the North, East and South sides of the stadium - including the proposed South East corner - benefit from the installation of new seats next year. Work would then be completed by replacing seats in the Q-railing (West) Stand in 2018.

You’ve got enough hot air behind you😄 I nearly forgot how important you as backroom staff are to the club, heating AND entertainment, 😂 and here’s me thinking the heating was remote operated electric and all the time it’s blown hot air heating😂😂 I wonder if those in the opposition dug outs realise😱 😂

I’m not that arsed either way to be fair was merely pointing out that there’s still plenty of time to get them fitted if that’s what the club are still planning......

I'd rather we spent the cash on the pitch to be fair. I'm not sure how much those seats would cost but whatever the cost, if it could be put towards an extra player or a higher quality player then do that. Seats can wait until we're back in amongst the TV money. I thought you wanted it turfing again as I read your first line!

If it's going to take around 4/5 weeks to fit them then they really need to be starting soon. We play Wolves in around 7 weeks time, and I'm sure they'd want atleast a week in hand incase anything goes wrong, so surely they've got to be starting next week or it isn't happening?

Yes it’s all very strange. I seriously think if we don’t hear anything in the next 7-10 days it won’t be happening. Bit sad if it doesn’t. It won’t cost that much so can’t see the club thinking they’ll save the money and put it to better use. They must have a contract to finish the job though so who knows???

Well it’s something to do with Stoke City Football Club so I do. Also the ground will look even better when it’s finished with all new seats, instead of one stand with old. Oh and you must care because you’ve bothered to read the thread and comment on it!
