After getting my wall chart yesterday( nearly 48,but got to have one) and buying a England shirt i'm now starting to get that world cup feeling.Hopefully 4 filled weeks of great football, noticed some of the group games kick off during the working day which is a bit of a bummer. But fully intend on watching every game i can.You can get games that stay with your ever for various reasons, great football, goals, kits etc.One of my personal favourites was Denmark beating Uruguay 6-1 in Mexico 1986.The display from Denmark was superb, they ripped Uruguay to pieces and the free flowing fast attacks were a thing of beauty. Come on England.

Denmark had a mint team back then and were great to watch.
Two great games that stick out for me are the Italy v Brazil game in 82 and the France v Brazil game in 86 that went to peno's.

Was in Mexico for the 1986 World Cup. Saw the Belgium/ Soviet Union Quarter Final in Puelba - 4-3 to Belgium after extra time - brilliant match. Also saw Lineker score a hat trick against Poland when he was likeable š

Brazil Italy 1982. France Brazil 1986. France West Germany 1982. Sweden Romania 1994. England Cameroon 1990. Spain NI 1982.
Didnt watch Italy West Germany 1970 but it was a corker. Beckenbauer played with a sling on. 1954 final was probably excitement too.

I enjoyed the 1982 England 3 France 1 group game.Recall getting home from school and was so looking forward to it.I was only 8 during the 1978 Argentina world cup so don't really remember to much of it other than the ticker tape all over the pitch for the final.Plus it would be the first time i got the chance to watch England in the finals, and when we scored in under a minute it was great.Loved the kit we played in that day and the Tango ball, silly little things i know but really loved the 1982 world cup.

Every game Scotland have lost!
Argentina v Holland 1978 (for the ticker tape)
Italy v Brazil 1982 (Rossi was supreme)
West Germany v France 1982 (Harold Schumacher)
Germany v Brazil 2014 (Seven, as Teletext would have said)
And my personal favourite, England v Cameroon 1990 (I really did believe we were going to win the World Cup that year.

98 was a brilliant world cup, had some fantastic teams, goals and games. It certainly was Rob but the last one in Brazil has to be the best with virtually every team trying to win their matches and 95% of the matches thoroughly enjoyable Unlike Germany 06 and South Africa 10 which were rancid tournaments I actually attended France 98 and Brazil so it must be me š

The semi between Italy and Germany was terrific and the final was probably the most entertaining one I've seen. South Africa was atrocious wasn't it. As much as I love the World Cup I've got a few worries this one might be a pretty negative one.

Ill never forget being in Italy watching the great Italy - Brazil match with the Italians. After the game they were riding their scooters off the harbour and into Lake Garda!! That has stayed with me ever since and Ive always loved the World Cup, even when England didn't make it in 94.

I thought '98 would be the tournament, where they would go on and win it,fabulous squad, can't remember if they had their usual helpings of internecine strife or not? Somehow I felt, almost bizarrely, that it would have been almost a travesty for Dutch football had the horribly pragmatic side of 2010 eclipsed Spain in the Final, and achieved what the sublime squads of '74;78,98 hadn't.
