Newcastle got a fat old unemployed person with no experience in the Championship at all, but they walked into the prem and stayed their comfortably. So, while you may have said it before, no, you do not need a young ambitious manager with Championship experience who is a good coach and used to working with a small budget. You need a manager that will get you up at the first time of asking. Well you know what they say, opinions are like arses ,you think everyone's stink except your own

Javi Garcia turned up at Watford with no experience in the English leagues and out did Pardew and Lambert. QSF did something similar a few seasons ago. Not having experience of a specific league shouldn’t stop us looking at a candidate, let’s get the best one willing to come.

I think the expression actually relates to farts. The late, great comedian George Carlin had an excellent routine devoted to this topic, which is well worth listening to!

Can they find someone who is willing to take on a team which has half a dozen excellent players some of whom are on display in the World Cup who will leave, supplemented by a group of journey men and good players in the Autumn of their careers. It’s going to take a lot of rebuilding, which requires not only spending a lot of money and more importantly building a team that can come together in a very short period of time. The next few months are going to be either very exciting or a complete mess. My heart hopes it will be the former, based on recent past experience my head says it will be the latter.

What names would you like thrown about? I honestly dont know. I was hoping if he was fired someone would be line up and be in pretty much immediately. Instead I fear we are going to go through the same shite as last time. We have no business firing him if no one is already lined up. it is total amateurville. We will now no doubt be desperately trying to catch a Moyes or Allardyce who will reject us and end up with one of the motley crew of championship managers. and if we have fired him to replace with Mad Mick I wonder for the sanity of some people It would have been amateurville if they HADN'T sacked him. If they hadn't managed to get who they wanted and went back to him after a couple of weeks, they'd essentially be saying to him ... "Look Paul we know you're a bit shit and we did our best to replace you but nobody would come, so we guess we'll just have to make do with you." And he would have had zero credibility with the players, potential targets, the supporters and the media. They had two make one of two decisions, either to back him or sack him. They couldn't back him, so he was sacked. It was absolutely the correct thing to do.

IF the board are willing to back the new manager, I imagine being in a situation where you have very little remnant from the previous era is probably a very inviting situation.
